Wake up at 6 AM; go running and lift weights; shower; study over breakfast; go to 8 AM Medical Microbiology and Immunology Class for an hour and a half; work in my lab at the hospital on mutating a gene implicated in pediatric leukemia; More Class, during which I eat lunch; study in the gross anatomy lab; library for more studying; More Class; volunteering at the hospital; meet boyfriend for dinner; executive board meeting; chapter; work on my clinical diabetes research project; PHA/IFC roundtables; study until I go to bed at 12 AM. If I'm lucky, I have additional required meetings, philanthropies, study tables, lab projects, exams, assignments, etc. You get the picture. |
wow........busy!!!! US uni's are full on !!!
certainly puts to bed the stereotypes we see over here, i do hope you have some down time for yourself though |

Fraternity at Smaller University (18k people) Wake up still shitfaced, partied because of last nights results. Make it to the only class for the day at 12:30. Play frisbee or volleyball. Go to that stupid Greekman thing for KD. Be bored, leave early. Begin drinking with the guys casually. Pass out at three/four. Rinse, wash, repeat. That's all I had to do for the day. Thursday will certainly be a different day. |

Which is more common? I'd say it's a combination of both. It really depends on the individual. There are those who spend the whole time partying and those who don't even drink...and everything in between.

busy, i'm from syd so the us uni thing was weird for me. but they keep you busy here. i have loads more coursework than my mates back home. add to that clubs, orginizations, and fraternity work and there is not as much time for drinking as you would think. then agian i go to a very small private college (1200 students) so the professors expect a lot of you and know when you are behind.

Overall, the U.S. is full of great universities and students work hard to graduate. |
There are as many different answers as there are universities and students. I know that sounds like a cheeseball answer, but it really is the truth.
