Nasty songs!
 

What's up with these radio stations playing all of this nasty music, to name a few:

*Feelin' on yo' booty

*I don't know the title of this song, nor the artist(s), all I hear in the song is "Let me see it, let me see it, bend over let me see it" See what? I can only imagine. :eek:

*I don't want a minute man

WTF?????????????

Change the station. Surely there must be other stations that don't play the music you described.

The Fall of my senior year in high school way back in '98 I recall me and my buddy being at a social event, a basket ball game, and as the crowd dispersed past his car (we were waiting on someone) we were pretty rude, playing Akineyle pretty loud, of course it was the ever-wonderful song entitled "put it in your mouth" and all these old people were walking by dancing along to it, you know to be cool and hip, and a friends mother walked up to my buddy and started dancing to this song, trying to get him to as well, and I assume you've all heard it and that I don't need to repeat any lyrics for you. It truly was a memory not to be forgotten as a 45-yr-old woman is dancing to "put it in your mouth" A classic moment.

awwwwwww.. "what remix is this?" "feeling on yo' booty!" blah blah blah blah..what a sutpid nonsense bs concept of a song...even worse..it still sells...sad sad sad.....

AND WHAT it does sell! Some people like those songs, you don't have to listen to them, if you don't like them , change the station , turn off the radio, turn off the video.

Doods, if you don't like a particular kind of music, shut it off!!!!

Play christian radio, they have good songs and there's nothing nasty there.

My son used our car and left his CD in. I don't know WHAT the heck he's listening to (I never denied him his choice once he hit 16) but it was so raunchy... Good beat-but "I want to ------you from your head to your toes". The "F" word right and left...I asked him what he LIKES about the music and he really didn't have anything to say. Music is so personal, but when you beat messages that demean women or promote violence, I find it difficult to see the "redeaming value". No blanket statement, but I do think a lot of it has gone too far, as have the radio stations that play it. (But then, I didn't let my kids watch the Simpsons until middle school)

Music is so POWERFUL, it can shape social attitudes and individual perception. I'm wondering what the next phase in the cycle will be. Will we see artists bending towards messages of peace, antiwar or philisophical issues like in the '60's? I may be wrong, but I bet in the very near future we will see more artists return to "poetic" lyrics with much more substance behind their message. Question is-will the money follow.

Oh no, it's not that I don't like the music. Matter of fact I am planning to buy Missy's CD. But, I think it is inappropiate to play such provacative music on public radio.

Thats the point , it's public radio! change it if you really don't like it. radio stations do have censors but it's just for language and as long a sit's bleeped out or the edited version, who cares!

AND WHAT...i know it sells....I said that in my previous post...it's just funny how some of the dumbest songs (in my opinion) sell. They don't have to be "nasty songs." Some songs just make no sense to me.....kind of like the "cash money millionaires" LOL..if you listen to them...all of the beats are similar....they say the same things, or very similar things in every song...uh ah..i'm rich uh..uh ah I drive a humma ah..uh ah I Fu#$ed yo baby's momma! LOL

I have to agree, those songs are pretty nasty and I don't really care for them...

But it takes less work to change the radio station than it does to complain about it on a message board.

New Orleans is the home of many famous "ass rappers", i.e. Mystikal, Cain and Abel and Juvenile...In fact, Juvenile lives in the same town as me. Got arrested for chasing a "dancer" that he picked up in the French Quarter down his street, ice pick in hand, after she flooded his bathroom. Anyway...

At first I was shocked by the lyrics to "Back that azz up" After a while, it didn't phase me, and then "Shake your ass" by Mystikal came out. That shocked me for a bit and then I got over it. Soon to follow was "Shake it like a Dog" and that one's still pretty offensive...

Its kinda upsetting how our culture is just desnsitized to messages that are so incredibly demeaning to women. Sometimes just changing the station isn't what's best. Sometimes things get so out of hand that people should start talking about them and decide if its something they want as a part of society.

Just a thought...
