SubMotto's
Okay, I was going to post this on the Greeklife board, but I wanted to make sure it was okay before I did. Our chapter sub motto's are open and can be shared with others, correct? Like, the Epsilon Chi submotto is "Each One Caring for the Rest". I just wondered if other GLO's did submotto's(that was the question I was going to post) and I wondered what your chapter's submotto was. Oh, the Gamma Sigma submotto is "Know thine self"

submottos are actually open. Beta Gamma's is "To become best". I don't know if other chapters have them--because most sororities have open mottos and the secret mottos. I could very well be wrong, though. =)

Iota
Hey everybody! Iota's submotto is "Isofore", or "Sharing equal burdens". I really like it, it describes our chapter's sisterhood very well - we are always helping each other out, and no one is too busy to lend a hand.

Alpha Lambda's sub-motto is ASLF: Always Sisters Loving Friends.

Hey Brooke! It's so nice to hear from others who go to/went to Southern. How is everything going there? I left in 1997. You can PM me if you want.

Just to re-confirm
CHAPTER SUB MOTTOS ARE NOT SECRET If your chapter bylaws are saying they are, they are incorrect & they need to be updated - just contact your CNS and she will confirm this :D |
submotto
Our sub-motto is based on our chapter name (Lambda Chi) and it is love and companionship. I think it describes exactly what our (and any) GLO should provide its members

I thought this was a great post so I will share our chapter's sub motto with you all!
Lambda Beta's is Lambdus Bius Sofias(or some spelling thereof I'm sure) meaning "Wisdom is the lantern of life." I like some of the other ones that are listed! Sub mottos are cool. |
Kappa Pi's is: Beauty and Scholarship (and if I could spell the Greek of it I would!)
Chi Epsilon's is: Cherish Everything At International Convention - there is a candlelight ceremony were each chapter (closed and active ones) shares it's sub-motto. It's a very beautiful ceremony and I was very blessed to be able to participate in 2001. Speaking of which - start saving your pennies! Convention 2003 will be in Norfolk. I can't wait! Heidi |
Pi Alpha's is Pontimos Adelfoitis (give or take a few letters!) which is Most Honorable Sisterhood in English.
