Netbooks - do you have one?

Anyone have one of these?

I'm thinking about getting an Acer Aspire One 10 inch. I like the fact that netbooks are very portable (~3 lbs) and cheap (many cost 300 - 350 range).

Any comments would be appreciated!

I have a Dell Inspiron 910. When I bought my XPS, they were running a promotion where you could add a netbook for $99. I upgraded the memory and hard drive, so it was more like $200, but still, not bad at all. It would probably be very unhappy with resource-intensive software (I don't think it can even run Vista - mine came with XP), but it's just fine if you want to check your email or surf the net.

be mindful that they dont have optical drives, the screens are small and their functionality is limited overall.

Other than that good luck and try before you buy!

Thanks for the replies. I guess my concern was what y'all mentioned - limited capacity. I *think* I can live without a CD / DVD drive on it since it would not be my main / only computer.

I'll probably get one just for the sake that it seems that it is easy to carry around and check my e-mail. And, work on Word documents on the same computer.

I have a Dell Mini 9. I'm using it right now, actually. I bought a 16g SD card to increase storage space, since it has a 16g hard drive. It has all of my pictures and writing and such on it, no music though.
The Dell Minis don't run the Zune software, as I found out on the help forums, which ended up not mattering since Zune won't read my collection off of the SD card anyway.
I *love* my netbook though. I stopped using my main laptop entirely. I actually got it for the month I'll be spending in the rain forest, but it's very very useful. It fits in my purse...
The solid state hard drives make the startup time almost nothing, and really, my only complaint is the Zune thing. External cd/dvd drives can be pretty cheap so yay!

A few of the big whigs at work decided they needed Sony Vaios that have 11.1" screens and weigh 2.3 pounds. They are awesome little machines. They have a CD/DVD drive, wireless, ethernet.. an A/V mode so you can make it just a DVD player without booting to Windows. The only thing I don't really like about them is that the keyboard feels fragile to me. Some of the women carry them in their purses. They're pricey, but the best portable I've seen to date.
