Poll Time!
Soror Ideal inspired me to start this thread. Ididn't know anything about this.
Should Aaliyah's scenes from The Matrix be removed? What do you think? Soror, if you could, please provide the link for the petition. :D |
No the scenes from the Matrix 2 starring Aaliyah should not be removed. If she did all the work prior to her death, why should someone else re-shoot it? I would like to see this personally starring her and am anticipating seeing her in it.

No, the scenes should not be removed. They should be kept in the film as a tribute to her. If there are any consistency problems, they need to be addressed with the others members of the cast. The film could still be successful.

Aaliyah just finished filming the movie "Queen of the Damned". It's a vampire movie, which is one of the things I remember her saying she likes...I still can't believe she's not here anymore but at least she didn't have to live through all this madness that's going on right now...As for the Matrix 2, I heard that she had began filming a small fraction of the film but that the bulk of her scenes in the movie where slated to be filmed next year...Therfore, I don't know how they would keep her scenes in the movie without compromising the plot...I think they should recast her part, but at the end of the movie show clips from her scenes (like 10 or 15 minutes worth) as a tribute to her, with Keanu Reeves and the rest of the cast members that actually knew her speaking about her...

I heard......
They are considering an actress that was in Exit Wounds (forgot her name) and now Brandy is trying to get the part.
But I like Sugar_N_Spice's idea. |
Here's the link....

I didn't know how many scenes she had shot, but I signed the petition to keep her scenes in the movie. They could always have her die in the film, too, just like with the little girl from Poltergeist. I just would hate to see her hard work go to waste. I do like the idea about having her scenes added to the end of the film in the form of a tribute. That would be nice. But if it's enough scenes in there to keep without compromising the plot or the ending, I say keep them. |
I like Sugar N Spice's idea.

What did they do with The Crow when that guy died on the set.
I forgot his name. Help me somebody! :D |
The guy from The Crow was Brandon Lee...they kept all of his scenes, and maybe they even did a little tribute at the end. I know that right before River Phoenix died, he had been selected for Interview with the Vampire, and he hadn't done the scenes. Christian Slater ended up doing them, and they memorialized River in the credits.
I guess this is similar to TV shows/movies editing out scenes of the WTC...some people approve, while others don't. |
Thank You!
Thanks.
See it's my memory. It goes and comes. That doggone 29 I tell ya. They always say your mind is the first to go. :D |
Announcement
I heard on the radio this afternoon that Warner Brothers has decided not to use any scenes with Aaliyah. Of course, her fans are upset but I didn't get a chance to hear what they are planning to do.
