New Chapter of a Sorority
If I transfer to a school that doesn't have my sorority, am I allowed to join a nearby chapter?
I.e If I transfer from NYU to USC and they don't have my sorority there, could I sill take part in UCLA's chapter of my sorority? Thanks! |
No. But you could join the LA alumna chapter of the sorority in question.
|
No you cannot. You may only affiliate with the chapter at your school OR join the alumna chapter in the area (which is diff from being part of a collegiate chapter).
|
Swerving a bit, but I am aware of a few NALFO sororities (and fraternities, for that matter) that do allow members to affiliate with nearby chapters.
I guess it really depends on the organization/council/conference. |

If you're a member, why not ask your chapter's leadership? They'll be able to provide you with some assistance and direction. |

I'm kind of getting that "I didn't get into my top choice so I'm going to transfer and find a better chapter of my sorority or maybe I'll just go through Recruitment again" feeling.

Ok, I have been around here for a while but indulge me...what is PHA?

And yes, I'm talking Panhellenic, the one with 26 chapters. |

ETA: NPC has 26 organizations, not chapters. |
