Looking for financial advice message board...
 

GC has always come through for me in the past, so here's another cry for help.

Basically, I'm looking for a decent web forum that can give me some basic, basic advice on financial issues. After 8 years of schooling, I'm getting my first real job, and all of sudden things like paying off student loans and 401k's and IRA's are really going to affect me, so it seems I should be paying attention.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is a good web resource: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/Books/ There is a section on budgeting as well as pretty much any other topic you could think of related to money, credit, etc.

Her book "Good Credit Is Sexy" is really good too.

I really like Suze Orman's Young, Fabulous and Broke chat site-you can get to it from her website. There is a code you will need to get to this section but you can just go to the bookstore and get the code from inside the book with the same name. She is also on CNBC every Saturday night.

While I can't give you a message board, I can offer you this:

Every Saturday, from 1-4pm, on 96.9fm in Boston, they have 'The Money Show'. You can listen live at http://www.wtkk.com/

If you don't mind calling in to a radio station, I've called a few times before and they give excellent financial advice.

I recently joined dave ramsey's www.mytotalmoneymakeover.com and another site called www.getrichslowly.org

They are also on every Sunday 9 AM-12. The woman they have on during that time is ranked one of the best financial advisors in Massachusetts.

I thought there was another time they were on, but I wasn't sure. And yes, the woman (and I can't remember her name right now) has been ranked among the top 100 financial analysts in the country, and I believe among the top 10 in MA. Definitely call if you have a question that can't be answered elsewhere.
