Mizzou Fraternity House Fire Blamed on Bong

Was Michael Phelps in Columbia yesterday?

In all seriousness, this is pretty major. The fire at the Sigma Chi house started in the same area of a fire that killed a member in 1999.

Wow. How did it go from a "small piece of charcoal left on a windowsill" to a flippin' bong?!?

[Insert gratuitous picture of Brad Pitt here ^^.]

Wow. I definitely think this is another attempt from the media to make fraternities look bad.

Okay, but why would someone leave a piece of charcoal on a windowsill? Sounds rather suspect to me.

What I suspect they're referring to is a hookah, not a bong which requires flavored tobacco charcoal

annabella 02-26-2009 04:44 PM

Thank you. It was a hookah (not illegal).
A few years ago (1999? 1998? Before they were kicked off campus— they returned 2006 or 2007) a pledge died in a fire in the same house. This could have been so much worse.
