Gift Ideas

Hey,
A friend of mine from will be celebrating her first anniversary in this organization. I am thinking about getting her something special within a reasonable price range. Any ideas about what I should get her, gifts that you received in the past and loved, or websites that may spark ideas? And since I'm on this topic, anything for a member of Omega Psi Phi who will also have their first anniversary coming up shortly. Thanks.. :)

I'm not sure why you feel the need to get either of them anything.
Unless...

You know, I announce every year when my Alphaversary is and even post a link to the same sweater I've said I wanted for the past 3-4 years and I get NADA!

Shole wish my friends celebrated my anniversaries like the OP does. :)

Not to get anything started, but I am curious about your statement. If Wonderyears is friends with the people, why do you describe acknowledging the anniversaries as 'a need'?

Outside of the vibe I get that says perhaps the anniversary should not be important to a non-member, I agree with you. Non-members should never buy gifts for greeks in an effort to rally 'favor'. The gifts will never, ever be appreciated fully, as they were given with invisible 'like me please' strings attached.

But if Wonderyears is truly friends with these people and choses to give a gift to acknowledge an important milestone, I think its cool. Not that I gave my husband anything for his anniversary....

Well, dang! As long as we're making an anniversary wish list. . .my anniversary is in July - that's plenty of time to get it ordered and get it to me. :p

To the first post: I don't feel a NEED but they are close people in my life....one is a friend that I have had since junior high school and the other one is my cousin. And unless what...?...yea...anyway... awww Senusret I...don't worry...there may be something special in the mail for u soon....

ladygreek 02-25-2009 02:44 AM

Let's not split hairs on the semantics that you feel the NEED. Otherwise you wouldn't be on a public message board asking strangers about what to get. I mean you know those people and their tastes, likes and dislikes, etc. better than anyone here.

Oh and are you a friend of Senusret's? I mean you are telling him there maybe something for him (sweater?) in theb mail, soon.

WonderYrs 02-25-2009 03:11 AM

If u have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all....hmmmm...yea so i asked for some simple ideas....i didn't ask for a stranger to twist my words to make a conclusion of their own. Why not respond with something relevant to the topic or hit the back button?...and what does it matter if I am friends or not with Senusret?

ladygreek 02-25-2009 12:31 PM

Wow newbie, if you haven't figured it out yet, this is a message board. And everything I said was relevant to your OP.

Wow, what ever happened to actually giving an answer pertaining to the topic at hand...hmmmm guess we don't follow that logic anymore.....and since the sly remarks aren't things I can wrap up in a bow then there is no need for them anymore...thanks and have a woooooonderful week
