Razor burn! Any tips?

Do any of you guys get razor burn after you shave?

You know, hyper sensitive skin esp on the neck? I never used to get this but it has appeared of late and it really annoying.

Any tips? I'm trying moisturizer and Aloe Vera gel...as yet no fix.

Girls, do you get a similar occurrence from shaving legs etc-if so, any tips?

What are you doing as far as pre shaving?

You may want to consider changing your blade and also if you are using products that contain any alcohoh or any products that dry out your skin may also be causing skin irritation, thus your rash.

I clicked on this thread only to see what DS had to say on the razer burn topic, expecting it to be funny.

What's up with the real advice, DS? I'm so disappointed!

For an especially comfortable shave, try the Epilady.

Use TendSkin...you should be able to get it at any drugstore.

In terms of pre shave, I just splash water on my face, then hack at it with a blade. :D

I shave in the shower and use glycerin soap and a brush instead of shaving cream. The steam has my face good and ready; works great.

My husband shaves after he gets out of the shower for the same reasons as MysticCat. He always uses an alcohol based after shave. The creams make him break out.

my husband uses an electric razor after he showers.

i use "kiss my face" peppermint(very lightly scented) shaving cream for legs/ underarms with a venus razor.
the shaving cream enables a super smooth shave.

I use shaving cream, and until recently never had such issues.

The shower trick is a trier.

When my ex-husband complained about razor burn, I told him "Try razor burn of the armpits sometime!" Men have it so easy...

To the OP:

Use a loofah, shave, then a toner then a moisturizer.

I do sometimes. There is this powder that they make to help it. I get sometimes.
