Gamma Phi Beta Crescent Ball?
So I was recently elected my chapter's social chair and need to start planning our spring formal! The seniors want to have a "Crescent Ball;" I know that other chapters have these but we haven't in a long time. Is there anything that makes a Crescent Ball different from a normal formal? (Decorations, dress, location, etc) Or is it just something to call the formal? I'd appreciate any help! Thanks G-phis!

Back in the day, it was simply the "theme" - it informed the decorations, invitations, favors, etc.

I'm our chapter's new social and Crescent is huge in our chapter. It's more of a prom-like dance then anything else. You can have a theme if you want, but not necessarily. We normally have a slide show that showcases the year and each active. This is also when we present our Gamma Phi Guy of the Year award.

Michigan Beta sisters warmly welcomed eight new members after fall recruitment. New members joined in various activities, including Barn Dance, an 80s party with Phi Gamma Delta and an apple mill excursion. In October, the women held a bake sale where they raised $700 for Camp Fire USA. |
Crescent Ball is just what we call formal.

At USC our Spring Formal is the Luna Ball.
