Transferring to a New Chapter?

What is the best way to go about talking to the chapter at the new university? I am planning on transferring to SMU next year and considering that it is an extremely greek campus, I want to make sure I stay involved with the community. I was planning on flying down for a visit to meet some of the guys before I transfer, yall think think is a good idea?

thanks

First, correct your grammar.

"I am planning on transferring"
I plan to transfer...

"I was planning on flying"
I plan to fly...

"before I transfer, yall think think is a good idea?"
...before I transfer. Do you think it is a good idea?

Second, call the chapter president before you buy your plane ticket. He will provide you with the appropriate information to affiliate.

"Y'all," while it may not be appropriate in more formal situations, is not bad grammar that needs correcting.

(Now, if you'd nitpicked about spelling it "yall" instead of "y'all." :p)

I'm so glad you didn't spell it ya'll (one of my pet peeves!)

Also, correct grammar down here would be:

Fixing to transfer (or more colloquially fixin' to) ;)

Fixing to fly

and definitely ok with the y'all think it's a good idea?

But, to the question, I would also call the president, give him a heads up that you are fixing to transfer, and let him know you'd like to visit. He may tell you a good weekend to come. I don't know which fraternity you are transferring into, but most at SMU are pretty open to transfers (only a couple that I know of that are persnickety about it).
