date function idea
 

Hey guys, I'm the social chair for the University of Florida Beta chapter (Gamma Xi chapter) and I'm trying to come up with a good away-date function to go to for this semester. Our budget isn't the biggest but I can spend a good amount on it, if anyone at your own Beta chapter has done something really awesome that girls have loved then I'd love to hear some feedback! Thanks

One thing my chapter did that was a total hit was a Wine and Cheese party.

We had a buddy from a local restaurant pick out two types of wine (red and white) and several types of cheese and did a sort of presentation for everyone. The girls were dressed up in cocktail dresses and guys were at least in a suit and tie. The house was decorated very nice and we of course had Sinatra on or something...lol.

Total success and you got some culture out of it. It wasn't too pricey. We got very modestly priced bottles of wine ($4-8 per bottle) and bought it by the case. The cheese was a little more expensive, but you don't need to buy a hundred lbs. Just make sure brothers know that the cheese is just to snack on and not dinner.

Oh, I've seen all sorts of ideas for socials/events with sororities...

ice/roller skating, picnic in the park, paintball, there's a ton of local festivals in our area (seafood, collard, shad, etc.) throughout the year, etc.
