A Spring 2009 Story
 

This spring 2009 story for PNM "Suzie" takes place at a school with eight NPC groups, named here after musicals:

In the Heights
Edges

Suzie is an out-of-stater at a school where Greek life is a huge deal. She is very nervous about recruitment, even though she had a chance to meet members of all eight groups during fall semester.

[I am not telling this story in real-time. Bid day is today for this recruitment, so you can rest assured that Suzie gets a happy ending!]

In case you're trying to guess the school, the sororities at this school are:
Alpha Chi Omega
Chi Omega
Delta Delta Delta
Delta Gamma
Gamma Phi Beta
Kappa Alpha Theta
Kappa Kappa Gamma
Pi Beta Phi

Suzie didn't know very much about any of the chapters before she went off to school, but she has made friends in chapters during the course of the first semester.

For the first round, Suzie visited all eight houses. She liked all of them in varying degrees and would be happy returning to any of them for round two.

LIKED ONLY SOMEWHAT:
At Billy Elliot, she thought the girls were very sweet, but she also got a sense that she wouldn't really fit in as a member.

At Nine, she felt that the girls were very obvious about who they would be inviting back to round two... they were nice girls, but just didn't appear interested in her beyond basic conversation.

LIKED:
At Edges, the girls were nice and easy to get along with, but they included some rushers who did not attend Suzie's university. Suzie did not know what to make of this and wished she could spend time meeting more people from the actual chapter.

At I Love You Because, Suzie got along well with the sisters, but she did not get to meet as many girls as she did at the other houses.

LIKED A LOT:
At In the Heights, Suzie found the girls to be really sweet and easy to get along with. She definitely wants to return to this house.

At [Title of Show], Suzie felt the most at home. She says the girls are fun, smart, and just feel like they are a great. She hopes to get invited back here!

At Legally Blonde, Suzie thought the girls were easy to talk to and fun. She is worried because she knows that they have a reputation for steep cuts after round one... but she really likes them!

At Songs for a New World, Suzie had great conversations with every girl. She thought the girls seemed to be really interested in her, too!

So, after round one, Suzie would like to return to any of them, but since she can only attend up to six for round two, her top six would be In the Heights, [Title of Show], Legally Blonde, Songs for a New World, I Love You Because, and Edges.

hmm... since there's no Avenue Q I guess I'll go with Legally Blonde :)

Haha, I am trying to go with musicals I haven't used in my story or my sister's! :)

All right you're forgiven then ;) Legally Blonde is a great musical tho, just not my favorite :)

Um, definitely Songs for a New World. Because I LOVE Jason Robert Brown.

For round two, Suzie was invited back to:

The could go to up to six houses for this round, but she was not disappointed to only have five since she liked all of them. She was pleasantly surprised by a couple of the houses that invited her and was only bummed that she did not have In the Heights on her list.

At [Title of Show], Suzie enjoyed speaking with everyone she met. However, she didn't get to meet as many people as she did at the other houses.

At Legally Blonde, Suzie loved everyone she met. She is worried that she may get a cut after this round, though... she knows a lot of girls were cut after round one.

At Songs for a New World, Suzie had great conversations again. She said she really feels like she gets along with them and they really like her (or at least it seems that way!).

At I Love You Because, Suzie got to meet more girls and felt more at home. She met some of the sweetest girls here during this round!

At Edges, Suzie had a couple of good conversations and she felt like they really liked her. However, she felt as though the sisters she spoke to were almost trying TOO hard and wished she had been paired with people who were a little more laid back.

At this point, Suzie's favorites are [Title of Show], Legally Blonde, Songs for a New World, and I Love You Because. She wouldn't mind being asked back to Edges, but she can only attend four parties for round three and Edges would be her #5 out of the five she attended today.

I'm curious to see where she ends up! :)

She was disappointed only to have two invites, but particularly glad that she was invited back to SFANW.

At Edges, Suzie again felt like the girls really liked her, but were almost trying too hard to show her how much they liked her. It's hard to know how well she will fit into the chapter when the conversations don't all seem genuine.

At Songs for a New World, Suzie felt even more at home than she did during round two. One of Suzie's recruitment concerns was how she would juggle sorority life with her other commitments; the sisters here actually brought up how great her other commitments were! Suzie really felt good here.

Suzie would definitely like to go back to both houses for prefs if invited, but her favorite right now is Songs for a New World.

I can't wait for you to finish this story!!!

I actually have no clue which chapter is which! I have a guess about which one is mine, though!

She was very happy to be invited back to both!

At Songs for a New World, Suzie just felt at home. She really loved talking to the other girls who were preffing there, so she knows she would like pledging with them. The sisters continued to make her feel like a great fit in the group and she really thinks she would be happy here.

At Edges, Suzie was paired with a good friend. She loved talking to her friend and her friend said some very sweet things about how much she wanted Suzie for a sister. This was hard for Suzie, because while she likes Edges and feels like they really want her, she LOVES Songs for a New World and really feels at home in their sisterhood.

Well, on Bid Day Suzie woke up really hoping for a bid from Songs for a New World...

So she was a little bit disappointed when she opened her bid and found that it was for Edges. Again, it's not that Suzie didn't like the girls she met at Edges; she was just surprised not to receive a bid from Songs for a New World because she had thought that they liked her as much as she liked them. She was a little confused as to what she "did wrong" at Songs for a New World.

Suzie is a happy member of Edges, though, and (as any disappointed PNM should) she put away her disappointment from Songs for a New World to enjoy her new sisters. She is looking forward to her years of membership in...
