Towson Recruitment?
 

My niece is graduating this spring, and is currently waiting to hear from the colleges where she has applied. As she receives her acceptances, I'll be posting recruitment questions. My daughters are in SEC chapters at very competitive schools, and I went to school in a less competitive recruitment environment. Your help is greatly appreciated.

So, what can anyone tell me about recruitment at Towson?

Definitely far from SEC competitive. Unless it's changed very recently (since Spring 07), most if not all chapters participate in spring informal recruitment.

AOII_Angel advises there. tinydancer16 is a KD there, and AXiDgirl10 used to post here, but I haven't seen her posting in a while. Maybe she'll reappear for this thread?

Hi...there are eight chapters at Towson- AOII, KD, Phi Mu, AXiD, AGD, Phi Sig, APhi and ZTA. The chapters do not have houses so it's quite different than SEC greek systems. They do formal recruitment in the fall and a partially structured recruitment in the spring that most chapters participate in (not considered a bad thing since many chapters actually want to have NMs in the spring.) The chapters are anywhere from 40-100 members strong with significant changes occuring the past fall when KD got 50 new members when quota was 28! Recruitment is competitive but no where near what you see at SEC schools! I laugh because I probably couldn't have pledged AOII at Towson, but then again, every chapter is different! It's an interesting campus...

Oh...I just remembered! No recs are needed. I don't think they even know what they are!
