Blackberry Storm?
Any takers on this yet?
Opinions on how you like the device? I get to change phones in April and also hear more whisperings about the iPhone possibly coming to Verizon but I really don't want to be an early adapter (we saw how that worked out 2 years ago) so if I upgrade, that would be the phone I want. |
The CNET review says that the keyboard isn't that great, and you don't get full a Qwerty keyboard unless the device is on landscape. In portrait, it's no different from a BlackBerry Pearl.
CNET Review It's also heavier than the Bold. |
I have read the reviews, and they have thier pros and cons, I was hoping ot hear from some that actually have it...I have a co worker who has it and she is still breaking it in.

It's awful. My company lobbies for Verizon and their consultants don't even like it. I had it for a few days and went back to my curve -- MUCH better.
It's just not a good phone. Delays in typing (if you don't lift your finger b/w each letter). Feels like the cover can come off (that's the best way I can describe it...). I dunno, just not worth it. I will be switching to the next touch screen bberry though, this just isn't a good model and there are MANY improvements to be made. |

BUMP
I am getting a Blackberry (through Verizon) in the next couple weeks, and just wanted to see if anyone else had any more opinions on the Storm (v. the Tour). I am leaning towards the Tour. Also, someone told me today that you can't sync university email accounts to a Blackberry. Can someone confirm/deny this? I may have to rethink the Blackberry alltogether if this is true. |

it sucks, the delay in the typing sucks arse. went back to my bold.

my friend has one and she hates it. i think she had to get it replaced too.

Unless you're set on blackberry, check out the Verizon Droid that's coming November 6th. I'm dying to see how much it's going to be. It's supposed to be a rival for the Iphone, but better, with the ability to have multiple apps open simultaneously and an actual slide out qwerty keyboard rather than the touch screen keyboard. My Verizon contract just happens to be up in November so I'm seriously considering this thing. I'm just hoping it's not as expensive as the Iphone. Also, no monthly blackberry fees!

I just got the Blackberry Tour a couple of weeks ago, and I really like it. I get it through work and don't use it as a phone, though, so I can't comment as to that (cheaper for me to be on my husband's account than set up my blackberry as a phone, which I would have to pay for). I can't remember which model I had before (I think it was the one before the Pearl), but this is worlds better. I have no real desire for a touch screen, so I never mustered much interest in the Storm.

The appeal of the Storm, the Iphone and the Droid, to me, is the size of the screen more than the fact that it's a touch screen. I am so tired of perusing facebook on my tiny phone screen and trying to see if pictures I took with my phone camera came out any good on the itty bitty screen it has. I want it as big as I can get it, and that would be the size of the Iphone, Storm, Droid...
