Your pref experience
I'd love the hear any specifics you can remember from pref you went to, at any house.
I'm apply for Pref Chair for my chapter (LSU) and I'd really like to update our preference ceremony! I realize there are lots of threads out there giving general ideas about pref, but i kind of need more specific suggestions. I know Pref ceremony's are sometimes sorority specific, but any thing you can throw out would be great! :) HELP! any, any, any suggestions you can throw at me would be greatly appreciated. Also, any party planners out there I'd love some tips on creating ambiance. If you message me, I'll share some info on our past pref ceremonys. I'm going to post this on a different section as well. Thanks AND ANY THETAS OUT THERE, I'D REALLY REALLY LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU. I've posted this on our Theta section as well. http://greekchat.com/gcforums/images/misc/progress.gif |
Hey, I don't remember a lot of specifics about pref since its been awhile. However I do remember that something we always did was have kite shaped cookies that were yellow (gold) with black trim and had the girls names written on them in black. Also I am not sure if every chapter does this or not but for each girl who goes to our pref we have little books (usually just dollar store journals or little notebooks) and a bunch of sisters will write in the book for each girl telling her how great they think she is, how they really want her to be their sister etc. Each girl gets to read her book while at pref but then must return it at the end of the night, then all the girls who go Theta are given their book to keep at pledging. I always thought this was a cool tradition.

I never went to a Theta Pref, but one of my best friends in school was a Theta. She said that they served a whipped cream cake for Pref, but there was somehow edible gold glitter in the icing, in kite shapes. It impressed her as a PNM that it actually glowed!
