Bid Packs!
Hey everyone!
It's my first term as V.P. of New Member Education for my sorority. I'm in charge of giving bid packs to our new girls. I'm looking for some ideas and if anyone could give me some that would be great!! -Laura :) |
It depends on which sorority you are in. I assume you are in Delta Zeta from your screen name. There are companies that put together Bid Day bundles. I have used www.greeku.com for bundles last fall. If that's not what you are looking for let me know because I might have other ideas.

Our bundles were pretty simple. We got a DZ tote bag and inside it had pens, pencils, a notepad, cup, keychain and a DZ binder with all our info for our new member meetings. Do you know how much are you looking to spend?
|
I would also check out DZ's website/store/etc. When I pledged Pi Beta Phi we had little gift bags with a notepad, pen, cookies, and....I know I'm forgetting something. But I was super excited to have a Pi Phi pen (Pi Phi pen + my handmade mug from my hs art teacher are near-dear to my heart).

"Bid packs" are bid-day gifts, right?
|
Yes, I am in Delta Zeta. We are trying something new this year and making the bid packs ourselves. So far I have little pink & green notebooks, and cups that I am decorating for each of them. I'm really looking for different creative things I could make myself...if you have any of those that would be great. Like I said I'm new to this so any ideas would be helpful! With formal recruitment we are planning on welcoming in about 20 girls so we are thinking on spending between $5-$10 for each pack. I hope that helps!

You could also get craft picture frames (bought in bulk) and decorate those pink and green with the girls name on them.. those are great for dorm rooms

I once baked RaggedyAnn sugar cookies for the incoming women at my alma mater as an alum. Do you have a turtle cookie cutter? They are pretty inexpensive to make.
|
Or a door hanger that says "A ΔΖ lives here"

Clear Plastic Frames from Walmart are cheap, and you can decorate them with paint pens, if not with the girls names, then with DZ letters.
Its easy to decorate a glass mason jar with ribbon (just use got glue) and cut out letters (I use my Cricut Chirp machine). You can then cut fortune cookie sized papers and print DZ and sisterly quotes on the papers. Theres alot of cute ideas for crafts on this website... http://www.scrapjazz.com just check out the gallery! good luck |
