New Member Songs
 

I dont know if all chapters are like this, but we new members had to make up our ''pledge class song''. It could be anything we wanted, and we had to sing it at our initiation luncheon with our families. I am curious if you had this, and if so, what was your song?


Ours was to "I'm a Barbie Girl" something to the effect of

I'm an Alpha Girl,
in an AOPi world

Imagination-
We're the fall sensation!

Grab your pandas lets go party
oh oh oh yayyyy
Grab your pandas lets go party

We are pretty girls
who like to wear our pearls

ok, thats all I remember.it was cute!! But after we sang it once, they made us sing it over and over again!

Hey there, everyone! Well, Mary, we also had a pledge class song till we were told by our CC 2 year ago that it was considered hazing and we almost lost our new member class because of it. Personally, I thought it was fun!! We also had to make a new member skit, and a scrapbook of all our pledging memories. Sadly, I think all that is gone now. So sad that BAD hazing takes away the fun of BONDING. But I guess thats the way it works!
Anyways--my pledge class song was to the tune of "American Pie" and it went
"Bye, Bye, Miss Alpha Omicron Pi, drove my chevy to the rose house but the rose house was dry, and the Kappa Sig boys were drinking Jim Beam and Rye, singing that I'll be the day that I die, when I am lucky enough to date an AOTT"

We had like 5 verses, too! And the class the year after me did the Barbie song too, Mary!!! Great AOTT minds think alike!

Oh I love it!! Thats great!!!!!!!!

I pledged Spring '01, and our song was awesome. We did it to Ja Rule's "put it on me." The first part was like this:

Where would I be without my girls,
More precious to me than pearls.
Before I met you I was lonely,
But then you put your pin on me.

The rest was cool, too. One of the girls in my pledge class had Vita's part and she did an great rap about our chapter. I'll find the rest of our lyrics in our scrapbook and post them.
