Blackberry prices

I know I may be dense but help me out;)

Let's say you buy a BB for $199 or whatever.

Then you have to pay about $60+ a month to be able to talk on the phone?

Plus $60+ a month for the Internet portion?

I just want to be able to get/make a few phone calls a month and check my email and FB, plus a little random surfing.

Am I thinking the monthly prices are over $120?

I have T-Mobile and I pay about $80 per month. Luckily, I had Suncom before they got bought out and have unlimited minutes, text, pictures, and Internet/Blackberry service for that price.

Yeah $120+ is about right.

I have Verizon and I pay $91 a month for my cell. The internet and email package for Blackberry on Verizon is $29.99 a month plus your monthly minute plan.

Sprint has a few good packages that include everything.

and don't forget about employee discounts. some companies (sprint in my experience) are pretty liberal. as a student at the state university, i qualified for "state employee" pricing. :-)

Verizon has a state employee plan:eek:

Let me rephrase that question.

I, as an individual, can get a state employee discount?

I had Sprint for a long time, especially while a student in college, but I never qualified for any special pricing :(

I know that AT&T had their Unlimited Texting & Internet for $35 a month. If the Blackberry is anything like my cousin's iphone, then that $35 (it could be even more for a blackberry) is mandatory.

My cousin is getting rid of his Iphone because he doesn't want to pay the price for the data package, when he only goes on the internet occasionally.

I get a discount on Verizon because of my employer. I get like 22% off my total monthly plan plus 25% discount on all accessories purchased through them. It's worth checking into, Lynn. I'm not a government employee, but my work has a deal with them, just like they do with Dell and Microsoft and several other companies for discounts.

I have a blackberry and my husband has a different phone. we have the 1500 anytime minutes, night and weekends free, unlimited share everything data plan and it's $129 a month before taxes and fees, but that doesnt include the discount I have (for belonging to a credit union). Sprint will give you a discount for just about anything.
