new theta phi alpha chapter

Hi everyone. I am part of a local sorority that was recently chosen to affiliate with theta phi alpha (we begin colonization in january) I was just wondering what this is like and anyone's experience with being in this sorority. Also, I was wondering if we are allowed to wear letter once colonization begins. Thank you.

Hey that's really exciting, welcome! What school are you from? I had heard there were a few colonizations around the corner but I wasn't sure if we were absorbing locals or what.

I joined an already established chapter, so I don't know firsthand what it's like to be part of a colony, but I did some volunteering with a colony a few years ago and it was really exciting. You'll learn all about the requirements and such at your colonization weekend, if you haven't already. And yes, you will be able to wear letters!

I have really loved my experience with Theta Phi but I'm feeling inarticulate right now so I'm having a hard time adequately putting it into words. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

I am an alumna initiate and would not trade it for anything in the world. Theta Phi Alpha's values inspire me every day to be my best and make the world a better place. Not to mention the fact that I have made great friends and relish the opportunity to be in an NPC organization.

Welcome to GC and TPA! Stay with us and update; I'm sure we'd all love to hear your experience.

Theta Phi has been one of the best decisions of my life, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. =)

Congrats

Yay! We love new colonies... Which school are you from? York or Sacred Heart? I have worked with many of our new colonies and it has been a wonderful experience! Truthfully it is what you put into it. Locals can go both ways. Sometimes local groups are really enthusiastic and have a great experience... sometimes they have a hard time making the change from their local group. Which makes the transition a little more difficult. My best advice is help to get the women in your group excited about Theta Phi and it will be an amazing experience. Congratulations I know we were thrilled about both groups because we thought the women in the locals were so strong. WELCOME!

I'm from Sacred Heart and I know we're all really excited!

Greetings from Clayton State Colony of TPA!!!

Hello my fellow Theta Phi sisters!!!!

I am President of the Clayton State Colony of Theta Phi Alpha in Morrow, GA and we have been going through the colonization process since August of last year. It has been a crazy ride for my sisters and I and we have hit a few bumps in the road, but we absolutely love and cherish our involvement in Theta Phi already! We are aiming to be initiated as a founding chapter at our University in April...fingers crossed! Already Theta Phi has made a strong impact on my life and I can only imagine what the road ahead has in store for me as an initiated sister. If you ever need ANYTHING or if you have any specific questions, PLEASE let me know! I am always here to help a sister regardless of distance between us. The important thing to hold close to your heart during the process of colonization is that every single ounce of hard work that you put into your chapter being initiated (and it will take plenty, believe me!) will be poured out to you in the form of the unity and love that you may already share or will DEFINITELY share with every single one of your sisters. You have tons of people behind you who support you and are always there to help, so don't hesitate to call on them! Everyone is so excited to have so many colonies springing up throughout the country and it is a beautiful experience to be a part of something so unique and beautiful as Theta Phi Alpha. ;)

If I could leave an anonymous comment, I would tell you a lot more. lol.

Seriously, though, it's all about the chapter and how active you can be, and since you guys were a local, your experience is going to be amazing.
