Cake request for 3-year-old Hitler namesake denied
EASTON, Pa. – The father of 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell, denied a birthday cake with the child's full name on it by one New Jersey supermarket, is asking for a little tolerance. Heath Campbell and his wife, Deborah, are upset not only with the decision made by the Greenwich ShopRite, but with an outpouring of angry Internet postings in response to a local newspaper article over the weekend on their flare-up over frosting. "I think people need to take their heads out of the cloud they've been in and start focusing on the future and not on the past," Heath Campbell said Tuesday in an interview conducted in Easton, on the other side of the Delaware River from where the family lives in Hunterdon County, N.J. "There's a new president and he says it's time for a change; well, then it's time for a change," the 35-year-old continued. "They need to accept a name. A name's a name. The kid isn't going to grow up and do what (Hitler) did." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081217/...dd_hitler_cake |
OMG I was just about to post this!! lol.
I dont believe the parents, you claim you aren't racist but yet your son is named Adolf Hitler and your daughter's middle name is Aryan Nation. Ummm...if that doesn't scream racist or white supremacist, then idk what. |
Wow...he doesn't know how he just cursed his kid to a lifetime of schoolyard fights and possible job denials....
Gosh...I feel sorry for the kid. Isn't it illegal in Germany to name a child after Hitler? I don't know about the racist part...heh. Stupid? Yes. |
what dumbf*ck names their kid Adolf Hitler anyway?
edit* and what mother doesn't put up a fight when it comes to naming her kids such outrageous names anyway? |

What really takes the cake, no pun intended, is that the parents say they aren't racist and that they just wanted to give their boy a really unique name no one else would have. Yet these are the names of all of their kids:
Adolf Hitler Campbell JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell Really? "Aryan Nation"? These parents really are doing a disservice to their children. Do they not realize the implications those names may have further down the line? JoyceLynn et al may grow up being judged on account of their parents' ridiculous judgment. In most cases, one could probably get away with just using initials for the middle name most of the time. But, for other things, like driver's licenses, health records or employment documents (esp. for military, politics or law enforcement), that may not be possible. For example, I just got done filling in a lengthy Questionnaire for National Security Positions, the form people fill out to obtain "secret clearance" for government jobs. I have to submit my birth certificate along with a gazillion items with my name on it. I can't begin to fathom the disadvantage I would be at if the investigator picked up my questionnaire and saw that my middle name is "Hitler" or "Aryan Nation". I'd have to add a statement which explains that my parents were kooky, that I never subscribed to their beliefs and outright state that I have never advocated for the violent overthrow of the United States of America. So stupid. What were these people thinking? .....Kelly  |

I am of a libertarian bent, and usually hate to see the government involved in most details of your day-to-day life. BUT - I now understand why some countries have rules regarding what is and is not an acceptable name. That's just BEGGING for problems for those poor kids.

I read about this today on cake wrecks! I wonder if these people run with the same crowd as that white supremacist children's music group?

I caught it...
Sure no one will have that name, but there is a reason no one will have that name. I could name my child Aduzbe Marit and I bet no one would have that name... Lovely quotes from the article: "...Heath Campbell previously had asked for a swastika to be included in the decoration." "Campbell said his ancestors are German and that he has lived his entire life in Hunterdon County. On Tuesday he wore a pair of black boots he said were worn by a German soldier during World War II." "He said he was raised not to avoid people of other races but not to mix with them socially or romantically. But he said he would try to raise his children differently." |
I can't even begin to comprehend why they would need a swaztika on a child's cake or old Nazi boots if they didn't subscribe to this belief. What parent wouldn't haul ass out of the house if they saw that on a cake? My child would most certainly not be allowed to stay. And my gift would be leaving with me.
Poor kids. They can always petition to have it legally changed. And they probably will. Even Hitler's own nephews refused to have kids so the family line would die with them (a bit drastic since they didn't do anything, but at least they got it, why can't this dude?) |
Those poor kids. Those parents deserve a beating. I can think of a great use for those boots...

I wonder if they manage to not be completely brainwashed and kool-aid addicted, if they will want to change their names before 18 and there will be a court case.
I've actually met people named Arian or Aryan, who weren't white, wtf is that about? There's also a chick I've run into a few times named Ariann and it is pronounced Aryan...seriously, what are people thinking? |
