Greek Letter Question

Is there a letter Deuteron? I don't remember that one when I learned the Greek alphabet. I've noticed chapters use this as their chapter name. Or, is Deuteron a word meaning something? (you dont have to give me the meaning.)Thanks, Lisa

The word deuteron means rebirth and is like the delta symbol but smaller and usually in the upper right corner. My sorority affixes this to chapters who left campus at some point in time but have been re-chartered. I don't think there is anything secret about this but I'm not sure sometimes. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

In my sorority dueteron is a designation for a chapter that was closed and reopened at a later time. For example our Eta Chapter at BU is actually the Eta^ Chapter because it was closed and reopened.

Hmmmm. Seems to me that a chapter coming back to campus would have enough challenges to face without the stigma of their national pointing out that they've been 'reborn.' But that's just my $.02
