Transferring

I was recently initiated into my fraternity, but due to a situation at home I have to transfer at semester to a school closer to home that doesn't have a chapter. Since I was initiated into my current chapter can I still start a chapter at another school?

Yes. Founding a fraternity chapter is a wonderful experience. I encourage you to do so.

It sucks that your circumstances are forcing you to transfer, but try to keep this in mind: there are two ways of joining a fraternity. You either pledge, etc, an existing group, or you start one of your own. You get to do both.

Good luck.

Check with your inter/national fraternity. They may want to expand and would appreciate the offer of help. They may not want to expand to that particular campus. They can let you know.
