Pi Kappa Alpha Member Subdues Armed Intruder (Marshall U)
Wow.
http://www.herald-dispatch.com/news/...aternity-house Excerpts from news story: A Marshall University student escaped serious injury and held down an armed intruder Sunday night at his . . . fraternity house until police arrived. Huntington police believe a 59-year-old man from Dunbar, W.Va., forced his way into the fraternity house and fired one gunshot . . . . The 22-year-old student was treated at the scene for a minor laceration to his right hand. No one suffered a gunshot wound. The suspect, John Curtis Dawson, was arrested and transported to the Western Regional Jail. He is charged with felony attempted murder and burglary, along with misdemeanor brandishing, according to a police report and booking records . . . . Investigators confiscated a .22 caliber firearm, one shell casing and two rounds. One of the rounds was live . . . . Police Capt. Mike Albers said Dawson came to the fraternity house, saying he was a former member who was looking for a place to sleep. Fraternity members weren’t convinced he was a former member and asked him to leave, when a struggle ensued. The victim held down the intruder until police arrived. . . . . |
Was impressive until the part about the perp being 59...

A 59 year old ARMED intruder. I'm still impressed!

Yeah, age doesn't have as much to do with what you are capable of, especially when armed. Good for that guy (the kid who held him down I mean)
|
The guy was probably not too great with the gun if he fired only one shot and it missed... Either that or he never actually planned to use it for violence... Still ballsy on the Pike's part in the heat of the moment though.
