GOLD
Can anyone tell me about this program? I've seen an article about it on the Quarterly, but it was mostly announcing who the officers are. What is it's purpose? What does it actually do?
|
GOLD is one of the Alpha Phi Foundation's new initiatives that started in August of '07. It stands for Graduates of the Last Decade, and it's there to help women adjust to the alumnae life while staying involved with Alpha Phi.
Here's the link of the article that was in the Fall '07 Quarterly. http://www.alphaphi.org/foundation/documents/Gold.pdf |
Through this program, I set up my giving to the Foundation. They charge my credit card every month so I don't have to do the big donations. I love that! And it helps me give more than I would have otherwise. I really want to get into that 1872 club soon.

So it's just a giving program? Nothing about volunteering or anything like that?
|
No, I think it's more. Like isn't that new alum magazine a part of it?
You should ask someone. I met with Lauren when she came to Charlotte last year. I seem have forgotten most of the conversation as I can't really answer your questions, but I can get you her contact info. She is really nice, and she'd be the best person to describe it. I remember her giving me a folder with all the info in there, but I can't find it. I do remember getting another red dress pin though! |

GOLD is "Graduates Of the Last Decade" - its a Foundation fundraising program, but makes longer term contributions easier for younger alumna by doing it on a monthly basis. I signed on last year and it's been super easy, but to my knowledge there are no other benefits to the program per se beyond supporting the Foundation and its activities.
