Dallas

I'm going to Dallas this weekend and wondering what places would anyone recommend to go see or dine at. On the top of my list is, of course, Texas Stadium.

Go to Fort Worth instead. Much more to see and do.

Okay, seriously. The JFK museum is good if you are into doing museums, and everyone will ask if you went there anyway. Other than that there just isn't much to see. Even Texas Stadium- meh. Wait until the new JerryWorld is built. That will be a site to behold.

Place to eat in Dallas- I love me some Glorias. Have a 'rita for me. I miss those terribly.

Are you going to a game at Texas Stadium? If not, there's really no reason to look at it, haha

There are several areas of Dallas (and the rest of the metroplex) that you can visit. It just depends on your age/taste.

And I agree with Blondie. Gloria's is great.

The one on Lemmon and Douglas is the best.

Yes I'm going to go see the Cowboys/49er game. I just want to see Texas Stadium before they move to the new stadium.

If you are going to primarily be in the Dallas portion of DFW, I'd recommend Gloria's (like already mentioned) or Primo's Bar & Grille. Both are fun little happy-hour type places with great food and even better drinks.

If you are looking for shopping, you can't lose with the Galleria or Northpark. Northpark has more high-end retailers and more stores. That's my opinion anyway. Galleria is nice, but I just feel like a lot of the stores there are just 'fluff". Northpark is a little bit farther down I-75. There is also a "premium outlet" center in Allen, Tx which is just a short drive away.

If you are looking for bars that are fun but not too crowded, you can't go wrong with anything Uptown. There's also a wine place called Vino 100 that is really chill and a good place for a low-key or evening-starter. It's within walking distance to the Uptown lounges/bars.

Stay away from places like Purgatory. The radio spots make it sound like a cool place, but trust me when I say it's not. :)

Stay away from Rockfish. It's a seafood chain joint that is awful.

For more suggestions you might want to try checking out Yelp.com. People place reviews for just about every building in the metroplex and it helps you get a sense of what you will get when you visit those places.

Stay away from going too far north or too far south in Dallas, both are terrible in two completely opposite ways.

Go to Highland Park and just walk around...I mean, yeah it's a chain, but that Chili's is pretty cool... feels very European. Go eat/barhop on Greenville, I like the Blue Goose the best. It's been awhile since I've visited.

Come to Fort Worth and visit the Stockyards! :) If you like country music, Billy Bob's Texas is fun... and I am SO JEALOUS of your Cowboys tickets.

I must admit I've been to two games already this season. :)

How far north? Addison is really not that bad.

To the OP: Addison or Uptown/Knox-Henderson are nice for a a more mature crowd.

^^ And where? Highland Park Village? The area around SMU? (Yes, it's University Park, not Highland Park.)

Agree on Knox-Henderson area. I live close by and enjoy the area.
