Bachelorette Party Question

I am a bridesmaid in a wedding of one of my sorority sisters and I have a question about planning the bachelorette party. We were considering 2 locations for her party: Vegas and New Orleans. The maid of honor and the bride herself are from New Orleans and we were planning on getting the bride to fly out to see her family and then surprising her with her bachelorette party. The group has pinned down a date and the maid of honor has made a reservation at a hotel there.

However, the bride has mentioned to me on 2 occasions (most recently and obviously tonight) that she has a preference for Vegas. I mentioned to the bridal party that I thought the bride had a preference for Vegas earlier, but the surprise party bit seemed pretty cool so we went with that.

What do we do now? Do we stick with our surprise-party plan? Or do I upset the whole group (and the maid of honor) and say how much the bride wants to go to Vegas? It would be cheaper for most of the bridal party to go to New Orleans.

The bachelorette party is all about the bride and what she wants, isn't it?

Who is paying for what? I'd say that the person /people bankrolling the party gets to make the final decision. If at all possible, I'd think the Vegas trip would be the way to go if that's what the bride wants.

I'd consult with whomever is paying for the party about making the switch first. If it's financially practical for you guys to change the plans, then by all means, do it if that's what she wants.

We (the bridesmaids) are paying for the hotel and activities. The bride will have to pay for her own flight -- we can't afford to pay for that too.
