Texas Tech Theta passes away

I just found out that Chelsea Wiseman, who was seriously injured in a car accident, passed away. On the facebook page created for her, it says she is a new Theta. I'm not sure if any of the other Tech students were in a GLO.

My prayers go out to all who passed, their families, and to the Theta chapter.

A head-on crash in Grimes County killed two Texas Tech University students Sunday and sent two others to a hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, authorities said today.

Jeffrey Michael Inns, 19, and Kyle Drew Anderson, 19, both of Montgomery, died when their car collided with a pickup, Texas Department of Public Safety officials said.

Also in the car were Texas Tech students Marissa Whitworth, 18, of San Antonio and Chelsea Wiseman, 18, of Austin, investigators said. They were taken by Life Flight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where their condition was not available this morning.

We've been following this in Houston. So sad - they were returning from the Texas Renaissance Festival. Prayers for all the families and her Theta sisters.

My sincere sympathy to Chelsea's family, sisters, and friends.

I'm so tired of death...

Oh, how awful. Much sincere sympathy to Chelsea's family, friends, and sisters, and to those families and friends of all the young people involved. What a sad loss.

very sad but why do kids not wear seatbelts? I don't mean it's any less sad because they weren't wearing a seatbelt because it is a tragedy either way but I don't understand that decision... It was the only thing that saved one of my friend's in his accident so I couldn't imagine not buckling up.

I think it's materially more sad this way. In a society that uses cars, some accidents are inevitable. But many of the deaths are not. So much needless suffering could be prevented if people just used common sense.

From the reports I've read, Chelsea was wearing a seatbelt, while the other two who died were not.

It is tragic whether seatbelts were worn or not, but it is doubly so in cases where the wearing of a seatbelt might have saved a life. WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS - we'd have Princess Diana with us today had she worn hers.
