Virus Warning: Sorors Be Aware!
Sorors have received a suspected email which could include a virus.
The email is supposedly an AKA file. DO NOT OPEN IT! DELETE IT! It could end with a .pif extension. Supposedly it has been sent from a student(s) from Penn State: adg133@psu. |
For Everyone?
I don't know if this will pretain to EVERYONE or a "certain few" but I think this could be a virus, too.
If you receive an email from "Evelyn C. Hathorn", please DELETE the email. It has an attachment, while the message states something about NEEDING ADVICE. Not all too long ago, a virus was being sent where someone was needing/seeking advice. This could be a hoax, but you never can tell. |
Virus
I receive emails at my hotmail account frequently from different names such as Evelyn C. Hathorn, etc. stating they need advice. I have a friend, who opened this email and it did contain a virus!! Please be on the lookout for these emails as AKA2D '91
stated! |
Please beware of an email being sent out from "(unknown)" with the subject "(none)".....whoever is sending this email w/ a virus attached will keep sending it to you over and over. I've gotten it five times and each time I've deleted it....so just keep a look out.

Here's another one!
It is the W32/Troj_Vote.A virus, It is an email virus
that is spread when an attachment is opened. It arrives as an email with the subj: Fwd: Peace BeTween AmeriCa And IsLam ! The attachment is: WTC.EXE Do not open this attachment as the reported payload will use your address book to spread itself, delete system files and attempt to reformat your c: drive. |
Virus
A new virus is called Family Pictures, Photos, etc. This virus attacks your C: drive among many other perephila devices on your computer. Please Beware that your friends may send you the virus as well. One instance happended when a friend opened it and then FWD to his friend. After he opened it, his computer shut down, he called his friend to tell him about it, so she wouldn't open it. PLEASE BE AWARE:confused:

In case you do open a worm virus...
FYI a worm is the type of virus that sends it self to everyone in your address book when it's opened.
OTHER NEWS: COMPUTER TIP How to avoid spreading a virus Here's a great tip to avoid SPREADING a virus. This tip won't prevent YOU from getting any viruses (you have to scan those attachments yourself before opening them to do that), but it will stop those viruses from latching onto your address book and sending itself out to others. To avoid spreading computer viruses, create a contact in your email address book with the name: 0000 with no email address in the details. This contact will then show up as your first contact. If a virus attempts to do a "send all" on your contact list, your PC will put up an error message saying that: "The Message could not be sent. One or more recipients do not have an e-mail address. Please check your Address Book and make sure all the recipients have a valid e-mail address." You click on OK and the offending (virus) message would not have been sent to anyone. Of course no changes have been made to your original contacts list. The offending (virus) message may then be automatically stored in your "Drafts" or "Outbox" folder. Go in there and delete the offending message. |
