bid acceptance question

hey, i tried to find the answer to this by searching, but it's a little confusing so i hope someone can answer me. my school's main recruitment time is in the fall but people still do a lot of spring recruiting stuff, and sophomores and even juniors can rush so i know i'm not "too old" at this point and stuff.

this fall i didn't know about the 1 year wait to join another GLO rule so i went to some snap bid parties even though i pledged and dropped last semester. i got a bid from one of the snap bid parties but i didn't accept it because i wanted to learn more about the sorority since i didn't want to put myself in the same situation as last spring. i ended up learning a little more about the sorority and things were OK but then my school's greek life office told me (unsurprisingly) that i needed to wait until the spring to pledge.

my question is that am i eligible to accept a bid from the sorority in question in the spring? i know i'm eligible to accept a bid in the spring because it will have been one full calendar year since i accepted a bid, but i'm worried that the sorority that i wanted now won't be able to give me a bid this spring because they already issued me one this semester when i was ignorant of the one year rule.

i really hope everything works out. i'm sorry if i was unclear. thank you so so muchhh.

If I understand your question correctly, Yes, you would be eligible. However, it's up to them to choose to extend you one.

I think what you're asking is if they're likely to give you one, and we just don't know. We don't really know if that chapter is going to want to bid someone that they already bid before who had to decline. That also depends on whether they have spots available at this point, whether there are other girls they've met who would make a better fit, and so many other variables.

yup, i know it is completely up to the sorority whether they even want to give me a bid in the spring. i was just wondering if they would be permitted to should they want to do it.

As far as I know (based on what I know of NPC policy) they are allowed to do so. Now whether they will choose to give you a bid is really up to them.
