Is this a "big brother" in a fraternity who has a "little sister" in your sorority?

I thought most NPC groups frowned upon that dynamic, or at the least didn't encourage it?

PeppyGPhiB, SWTXBelle, SmrtBlondeGPhiB, you'd probably all know.

Our sorority does this fun thing with string. We use yarn and wrap it all over a house or where ever around cracks over couches under tables you cant even walk through the house. In the very end the string was attached to a room where your big sis is revealed!

that's how my big sisters were revealed! yeah, i have two :-)

it was so much fun and it was a huge surprise which made it even more special/exciting.

I realize in national houses this won't fly, but to reveal to new pledges who their big sisters are, we have a pong tournament (and before you ask, no, we do NOT make our pledges drink. Lots of people - both sisters and new members - play with water). Big sisters tell the New Member Ed officers a costume that their little should wear, and then, when they get to the house, they have to find the person wearing the matching costume. Pairs have been things like magician/rabbit, characters from a movie, superheroes, cowgirls, pirates, cartoon characters, etc. You could do something like that with the costumes and just skip the pong part.

my best friend is in gamma phi and she told me about a candle-pass type thing. the sisters all stand in a circle and the new member goes into the middle, and a candle is passed around and around and back and forth to throw them off, and finally their big blows the candle out. that's cute :-) but i'm not too sure about big bros...that's frowned upon by my university's panhellenic council.

Glory hole. And once the girl is done, the Big Brother steps out of the stall and reveals himself. That's how it's done on my campus.

(Lol jk)

Yeah...not something that is acceptable. NPC and Gamma Phi Beta both have a policy against big brothers/little sisters and vice versa. They are also called auxilliary groups.

If you don't get it, you probably don't watch enough porn.

What we've done the last few semesters has been to have the big sisters write five clues and put them in different envelopes. The go from broad to specific clues and the last clue could only be the big sister. You will then have all of the actives stand in a line as the new members come out one by one and read their clues. It usually goes something like "I'm a Phi Mu" and anyone who is a Phi Mu [which in my sorority is everyone ;) ] and then I'm from West Virginia (which there are several of us from out of state), so all of the girls who are from WV step forward, then "I have brown eyes..." Just random things that could be anyone at first but then only you at the end. It's fun to see them try to guess who their big is as girls keep getting "eliminated." Once the big is revealed, the actives get back in line and start all over again with the next new member.

I really like that :) We do something similar, where the big's write up clues about themselves and then the girls do a sort of "big Sister hunt". This also helps them learn a little about the campus while "finding" their big.

The way that we did it was simpler, much simpler, although these ideas are very cute! We went by numbers. Whatever was your line #, your big was the same line#. In my case, we had 29, but the previous line didn't. Therefore, after my # (which was 17) the girls ended up doubling up in some instances.
