AXiD Tshirt quilt

I have been commissioned to do a tshirt quilt for an Alpha Xi Delta alumna.
I always put sashing of a theme fabric or color-coordinated batik between the tshirts. The backing and binding fabric are usually the same as the sashing.

I was on your HQ website to find whatever themes I could incorporate. As I don't think I will find a quill print and the pink roses won't match the shirts, is it okay to incorporate any light brown teddy bear print that doesn't necessarily look like your official mascots? This is so much easier when the customer selects the fabric!

I dont see why not. :) You should post pics for us when you're done!

How about a fabric that has blue and yellow in it? I'd love you even more if you could find one with two blues and a yellow. Or a neutral color if there are t-shirts in many many different colors? I'm thinking about using black for mine because there is such a wide range in the colors of my shirts.

The majority of the shirts are white. A couple are light blue. There is 1 shirt each of grey, cream and bright (and I mean bright) yellow. I am thinking a deep cobalt blue with tiny gold stars since the owner of the quilt is also involved with Make A Wish Foundation. I am really hoping to find something with little crowns as she also was a homecoming queen. Wouldn't it be great if there was a fabric with little teddybear princesses holding pink roses all on a blue background? That actually would be too busy and would probably detract from the tshirt designs.

I have a great yellow and blue stripe at home which would be quite nice and it would be a good way to use it up. I am also contemplating the window treatment in my office right now as it is dark blue and yellow stripes. Blue and gold are very popular decorating colors which sometimes transfers over to quilting trends so who knows what I will find when I hit the quilt shops this afternoon.

I just realized I never downloaded these from the camera. I actually finished it in 3 weeks. I incorporated a blue/bear fabric for the backing. It was a nursery print but it had a lot of blue and bears so the client wanted it:)

They are definitely fun to put together especially when trying to incorporate novelty prints that reflect the owner's interests ie school/GLO/sport/hobby....
