Disney's The Proud Family
 

Hello everyone,
Yes I can gladly admit that I do watch the Disney Channel and I love Even Stevens :p

Tonight @ 9:30 p.m. EST, The PROUD FAMILY premieres but I think the OFFICIAL PREMIERE is FRIDAY @ 6:00PM.

The PROUD FAMILY is an animated show featuring Black characters. I will be checking it out. Kyla Pratt (One on ONe, Love and Basketball, Smart Guy) will be a voice on there as well as JoMarie Payton from Family Matters.

Destiny's Child and Solange sing the theme song.

Check it out and let us know how you like/dislike it.


I watched it and what irked me were the GHETTO NAMES!! Why did they have to be named Dijonae and that other little girl's name is going to take me forever to learn how to pronounce.

I just need producers, writers, directors to understand that not all facets of Black culture are ghetto fabulous.

Black History Month Episode
 

The Proud Family will have a Black History Month episode airing February 1 on the Disney Channel.

I still watch the show faithfully even though it means seeing the same episodes 10 times a month.

CTHU yeah when it first premiered I was like now who in the hell but I am a patron of www.zoogdisney.com and learned the name. She is sooooo LATINO:p . Then the mom's name is SUNSET BOULEVARDEZ, CTHU!

My favorite characters are UNCLE BOBBY and SUGA MAMA.

Did you know that Uncle Bobby is the voice of CEDRIC THE ENTERTAINER?

Remember the infamous credit card episode? I know you could tell from the lips and big azz teeth that Steve Harvey was the "voice of the credit card"? Penny should have known that card was trouble -- it talked.:eek:

Episode was a wee bit cheesy but I still will watch it again. I think for little kids, it will show them how Black History is vital even today.

My 7 year old looooves this show! She actually figured out how to program the cable box to alert us when it's coming on.

Tell her that there will be a new Valentine's episode on this coming Friday. I was checking out upcoming episodes. I missed last Friday's episode but it comes on again tonight at 7. This is the episode where Miss LaCienega Boulevardez's house burns down.

FINALLY
 

I was getting mighty tired of the same 14 episodes. The new season kicks off this Friday and Wizard Kelly is still in the mix. :D

I hope they keep Uncle Bobby in the mix this season.

The Proud Family gets a thumbs up from me for the simple fact that it shows a family that is all brown!! I also like the fact that Penny and her mom have a strong relationship. My four year old LOVES the show, and my boyfriend got us both turned on to it.

I can't stand LaCieniga sometimes though. And we all KNOW, at least, someone like Dijonay. I can't say that I knew some ppl like the Gross Sisters though (the little one with her hand always out cracks me up!)

And why come I never see the episodes with Uncle Bobby?!

Favorite episodes?
1. When the crew made Ole over into a glamour girl.
2. The credit card episode.
3. When Sticky's parents got a divorce and he tried to join the Altooooosss!! ha ha
4. The one where Penny got Suga Mama (that's SugAH, not sugER) and her teacher, who were best friends, talking again.

OK, I watch the show a LITTLE too much.. ha ha.

Uncle Bobby was in the ep where Penny talked to the tiger, the Kwanzaa ep, and the one where Puff got lost.

I love this show and might miss it this Friday.:(

The Gross Sisters are gross. FYI, The nerd on the eps is Moesha's little brother (big eared little boy).

I like the episode where Penny is in the play and she is dating her leading man and they find out he has an "arranged" marriage and they are looking at the girl through the window and Dijanay goes

"She ain't cute she's FIONNNEEEE"!!

and Penny just give her a look like WHATEVA!lol!


Yeah I got into the proud family this summer, but I love me some Lizzie Mcguire:p

Ok, I watched the entire 12 episode marathon today. :) I have NO life. :) ha ha

I loved the episode with Thingie! :) Papi is a trip. . I really enjoy this show..

My four year old sings "we are, we are best friends.. till the very end.. " :) Its too cute. :)
