Automotive Random

Has anyone seen the BWW M1 concept car? It's pretty sweet. It's been out for a while, I just think it's a well designed car.

I think they need to definitely put it into production.

That's exactly the 1st color I thought about when I saw it. It would look really look nice in black. My choice too.

Of course with KAY as the front plate.:D

Truth be told I should get two of these. 1 in nightrider/midnight blue and 1 in silver.

That's hot!

I knew that was coming. Doesn't it remind you of a Lambroghini Maurciélago.

I don't really see the resemblance. I think the BMW is far too retro to remind me of any other car with the exception of the original.
I like the M1 concept, but I think the Murcielago is a much better looking car. I'm not a big fan of the very front of the Beamer, but the rest of it looks really cool. The Murcielago has flawless design.

Yeah the design is tight. Industrial designers make it happen!!

I know most of you all are going to  when I post this car. The new Focus is probably one the best designed cars I've seen in a while. It's not your everyday Ford Focus you see over here. The one over here sucks. That, a Matador, Fiero and the Pacer X are some of the most hideous cars I've ever seen. The Focus RS of Europe is so sweet. It will be for sale in 2009 but only in Europe. The U.S. Focus sucks. The new Focus RS will have front wheel drive rather than four wheel drive like the 2003 RS had. It's pretty much a rally car for the road, and I love it. When I 1st laid eyes on it I was . Soweeeeeeeeeet! And it is one fast car. I love rally cars. Check it out.

That car looks fast. I like the background music. LOL You know, there are many cars that are on the "come up" as far as design goes. The chevy malibu is one.

Yeah, that's so true. LOL at the Malibu. You're right about the designs that are out, but I'm not a big fan of GM cars. I do like the new Comaro though. They were sweet during the muscle car era, but from the mid 70s all the way up to today, their designs need help. It's not their designers, it's management. GM has some of the best designers in the world, but when you have a conservative management team, it effects the products.

ETA: I love GM of Europe and Australia though.

Man that happened to me. I was a graphic design major in undergrad, thinking I could get a job designing cars with that degree. I've always wanted to design cars since I was knee high to a duck, but I didn't do the research. Anyway I got my degree and went to school for transportation design. I never graduated though. Since I already had a BA, I said whichever came 1st. A career designing cars or graduation with a 2nd BA. I built up a portfolio and kept sending it out and interviewing while I was in school. When I got the job, I left.

LOL, yeah those prisma color markers are expensive, and chart pack markers don't last at all. Now, IDs are using photoshop, alias and studio paint. Paper is still being used, but the computer is the main tool now. It was hard to get used to, because I had to learn how to look at the screen and sketch without looking down.

My favorite medium to render in though are color pencils. I like to sketch with either Indigo Blue or Tuscan Red. Pen and ink are cool too.

We must talk, I will be PMing you. My story is similar to this. I like pastels and Prismacolor has excellent pastels. I like their color pencils and blender pencil by Prismacolor as well.
