I hope I'm wrong

I hope I am completely wrong, and that whichever of the two main party candidates wins he is able to guide this country with a sure and steady hand, deliver on his campaign promises, and bring about the kind of change we need in the federal government.

But I'm not holding my breath.

It is a rather disappointing year for candidates. As I've said, this is the first year where I'd consider voting third party. Unfortunately, I hate the third party candidates even more than the candidate I will be voting for, McCain. If there was (in my mind) a credible third party alternative, someone I would feel comfortable voting for, they'd probably have my vote.

I hope I'm wrong about Obama, because he's probably going to win.

Convention wisdom would say that you're right, if only because there's been 8 years of a Republican president (even though it's a Democratic Congress). But there can always be exceptions. With even ACORN talking about the amount of voter fraud, this won't be decided for months.

I don't envy the president and the current financial and diplomatic situation - if Obama wins AND the Senate and Congress both go Democratic, they had better deliver a financial near - miracle, or he will be a one-termer.

I agree... I can already hear the republicans in 2012. Is four years enough time to put a dent into all our issues? I would hope so.

Well, if McCain wins, he will have the advantage (in 4 yrs.) of blaming anything and everything on the Democratic Congress (assuming both house are D)

On Meet the Press this morning, the general consensus was that we will have hit bottom by Inauguration Day and whoever is President will look like they're great because we will only be able to go up from there. From their lips to God's ears!
