CT Supreme Court legalizes same-sex marriage
http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/10/10/con...ef=mpstoryview
CT became the third state to do this, after MA and CA. I haven't had a chance to read the decision as of yet. For those who are interested: Here is the opinion: http://www.jud.ct.gov/external/supap...9/289CR152.pdf And, the dissents: http://www.jud.ct.gov/external/supap.../289CR152E.pdf http://www.jud.ct.gov/external/supap.../289CR152F.pdf http://www.jud.ct.gov/external/supap.../289CR152G.pdf |
"...because the institution of marriage carries with it a status and significance that the newly created classification of civil unions does not
embody, the segregation of heterosexual and homosexual couples into separate institutions constitutes a cognizable harm." Go CT Supreme Court...separate but equal is not equal! |
3 down, 47 to go...
