A fun thread. Who would you vote for?
 

I was taking a break so I thought this would be a fun thread to start. I don't know a whole lot about politics, but since it's almost election time, I thought we could have some fun with it on greekchat. Here's how we play. We have two presidential candidates and two running mates from greekchat. The person below votes. Then that person posts two more and so on. Kind of like say something about the person above you. For example.

screen name/screen name 08 vs. screen name/screen name 08. Then the person below you picks who he/she would vote for to be president and vice president of the United States. You can use the same names if you want, because someone else may vote differently, but you can't use your own screen name.

I'll start:

See, your first mistake was putting 33 with AKAmonet. 33 is sane.

Second, DSTChaos is not posting on GC at this time.

Third, we've already had this kinda thread years ago with the Tom Earp for Pres thread. You can see what a good idea it seemed at the time. Now, we all know what kind of crazy that was.

This is a frackin' trainwreck waiting to happen.

Since Senusret already has a campaign up and running, he's the obvious choice. You can't build infrastructure in 44 days, so really, vote Senusret -- GC's only choice.

^^^ The funny thing is....I was going to ask how did Tom Earp for President become a train wreck and mine was just "Awwwwww, it's Senusret!"

Well, I really know why, I like playing coy sometimes. :)

If I were to pick a running mate, it would probably be EE-BO or MysticCat.

Maybe the funniest thing about it is that, early on, Earp was really popular on the site. When I first started posting in 2001, he was one of the more popular posters (or, at least, he was fairly well-liked). Then, he started to let his true self come through, and...well, that was the end of any "Tom Earp for President."

So, the moral of the story is, stay away from sexist, racist, or otherwise bigoted/hateful speech, and you should be able to continue your popularity, right up until the election.

(I won't even charge you a consulting fee for that advice!)

Everyone says all of these things about him, and all I've seen were friendly posts from him, or posts where he's defending himself from attacks from other greekchat members. I've asked this before and no one ever shows me the posts. Is he sexist and racist? Seriously.

Many of his more offensive posts were soon deleted by moderators. Other than that, I don't know what to say -- there was plenty of offensiveness and azycray. Sorry you missed it.

Hello? There is a delete function used by the mods. Do you think they're gonna let those posts stay up? He posts -- they delete -- he gets re-banned. (Man, I just realized Mystic posted the same thing before I posted. Damn it, Sensuret's gonna have to give me therapy for my GCR.)

Yes, seriously. You've heard of the crazies on GC that take things to real life? Earp was one of the first to cause problems for someone on this site -- in real life. He likes to post jokes on here that are racist and sexist, too.

Yes, we that have seen him in action have long memories. And, those that he has caused problems for offline have long memories, too. So, yes. You've likely seen the posts where he has been called on the carpet. But, only the unlucky have seen his lecherous posts.

I've seen quite a few posts from other members that mods have left up that I don't think should have been left up. But maybe what's offensive to me may not be to some other members.

WHAT????!!!! at the real life stuff. Wait a minute. Guys, please don't call me names for asking this. I think this is a reasonable question, but there are members on here who have taken or wanted to take offensive posts to real life??? Seriously! Tom tried that???!!! Ya know, there are SO many angry people on this message board. I mean, it's not that serious. Seriously. Of course we all have taken offense to some of the name calling on here, I know I have, but to get that upset to want to take it to real life is just sick.

But anyway, Tippiechick and MysticCat, thanks for telling me this. I just feel so naive and gullible.

Yes, as Tippiechick and MysticCat said, the posts get deleted. For that same reason, it's not wise for people to repost their content, as the reposts will likely get deleted too. Shortly after his most recent ban there was a thread up that repeated some of the things he had said, speculating that they were the cause of the ban. That thread was deleted shortly thereafter. This thread is heading that direction, too, I'll bet. ;)

I used to want to think that he was being picked on for no reason, I really did. His actions have proven to me time and again that I was an idiot to have ever held that belief.

You and me both. I don't feel so bad then.:)
