OMG WTF The Snuggie?????

If any of you ever get The Snuggie, I will fight you.

It's a blanket with sleeves?!?!

How about put some more damn clothes on to stay warm!

ZTAMich 09-21-2008 06:45 PM

But I want the press and open book light!!!

Senusret I 09-21-2008 06:45 PM

^^^ Me too! I was like "Bump the snuggie, I beed a book light!"

Leslie Anne 09-21-2008 06:50 PM

OMG that's so something my 80-year-old mother would buy! How embarrassing.

I like the commercial with appropriate music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4OxmXpKCcI&NR=1 Watch out. It gets very dramatic at the end!

...or you can just turn your robe around & put your arms through the sleeves.

I seriously hope no one buys the Snuggie! lol

AOII Angel 09-21-2008 07:10 PM

They also call these slankets as in blanket with sleeves. They are unbelievably comfortable, and you can stay warm while using your arms. My brother bought one a long time ago...stupid but awesome!

AGDee 09-21-2008 07:18 PM

My mom had one of those snap ones. The Snuggie looks like a Monk robe to me.

LucyKKG 09-21-2008 07:19 PM

Hahah how funny! When I have my laptop on my lap, it makes me warm...who gets cold that way?

gphi426 09-21-2008 08:23 PM

haha when i first saw the commercial i thought they looked like cult robes.
i wonder if there is a cult out there that uses the snuggie as their "uniform"?

AOII_LB93 09-21-2008 08:30 PM

No joke, my students, instead of actually wearing jackets and stuff bring blankets to school to stay warm. WTH is that all about?! ...oh yeah, these are HS students. Maybe I should recommend the snuggie.

amanda6035 09-21-2008 08:51 PM

but I want one.....

for real....

FlaGirl07 09-21-2008 08:58 PM

i'm ordering that shit now.

Still BLUTANG 09-21-2008 09:04 PM

i WISH i would see someone at a football game in a snuggie!

I was just about to say...isn't that just called a robe?

Kevin 09-21-2008 10:37 PM

Those folks all looked like level 40 warlocks.

33girl 09-22-2008 09:40 AM

Ha ha, they were talking about this on Talk Soup on Saturday morning, and later that night I saw the commercial for it for the first time. They needed to pick a dude that didn't look like Marshall Applewhite to star.

This wouldn't help me anyway, because my hands are what get cold (poor circulation). Also my stomach, although I don't know why.

I'm not sure this is much better.

I wonder if I can get that in a fleur-de-lis print....

gpb1874 09-22-2008 12:21 PM

Ha ha! I something like that at Dillards last weekend. It looks like something my mom would buy me (and that's not a complement to the snuggie).

Munchkin03 09-22-2008 12:33 PM

I thought this commercial was fake!

ΑΓΔSquirrel10 09-22-2008 12:36 PM

I agree with the OP. PUT ON MORE CLOTHES!!!!! It's called a sweater, people...

That's where I saw it, and oh man, I could not stop laughing.

"Blankets are ok, but they slip and slide, and your hands are trapped inside!"

Ok, if I'm really that cold, and I need to use my hands, I'll put on a sweatshirt.

I honestly can't get over how ridiculous these people look. You could put a pointy hat on them, call them wizards, throw them in a Harry Potter movie, and no one would know the difference.

It's sad to think that someone might actually be making money off of this idea.

My daughter has the book light. I think we got it at Borders. It is pretty cool.

But it's open in the back, so maybe they're hospital gowns for level 40 warlocks.

My favorite part is the suggestion that you wear them in public, like at sporting events.

If it doesn't have footies (footsies? don't remember what they are called) then it isn't worth it!!

DSTRen13 09-22-2008 06:35 PM

I'm gonna be honest ... I totally want one :o I practically live in my blanket from the moment I step in the door of my house and I'm always thinking about cutting holes in it for my arms. And yes, I am that big a nerd. Bring it.

AOX81 11-25-2008 08:37 PM

I live in a blanket when I am at home and I actually considered getting one, lol. :)

I guess I'll have to start chanting... ;)

Senusret I 11-25-2008 08:47 PM

I recommend the Barefoot Dreams robes you can buy at Nordstrom. I have one and they're sooooo soft and warm.

Tippiechick 11-25-2008 09:53 PM

I am SO getting one of these. Seriously. This will be perfect for days when my wreck injuries are killing me and I have to stay off my feet.

Blankets I can keep on the couch without washing them after each use. I have a rule about my clothes -- THEY MUST BE WASHED RIGHT AFTER WEARING THEM. If I wear something for 5 minutes, it has to be washed.

SO, this would actually be a practical gift for me.

Xidelt 11-26-2008 01:22 AM

I wore my snuggie to the airport. Security was a bitch! The commercial was wrong. You can't wear them in public.

Kevlar281 11-26-2008 02:00 AM

It's 55 degrees in my place right now. It's a good thing my blanket lined Carhartt has sleeves. Haha...

LOL!!!

My husband is actually considering buying one of these! I'm trying to talk him out of it! LOL

whiteandblack 11-27-2008 10:49 PM

look, I was thiiiiiiiis close to buying one...

Honeykiss1974 11-30-2008 11:13 PM

Seriously, the snuggie freaks me out. :( Everytime I see that commercial, I think of cult wear.

epchick 12-01-2008 12:57 AM

And I say it again, just turn your robe around & pull your arms through. Viola, instant "Snuggie."

I can't believe these people are actually making money off of that.

I saw this commercial on tv for the first time the other day, & I was cracking up because it made me think of this thread. As soon as it was over, my 4 yr old niece turns to me & says "T.T., I want a snuggie".

I cracked up & told her we would get her something else instead.

AOII_LB93 12-01-2008 06:47 PM

Down with the snuggie.

I saw a kid at school today with a Bob the builder blanket(this was probably a junior), I seriously wanted to recommend the snuggie or one of those new fangled pieces of clothing - a jacket.

sjsoffer 12-01-2008 08:11 PM

I'm so damn cold right now I'd take a snuggie!
(apparently 3 layers of clothing, boots, and a blanket aren't enough in my apartment)
