I LOVE MY PLEDGE SISTERS! It's been forever and we're scattered to the winds and it hasn't even been three years, but Fall '05 aka Alpha Rho is still prospering. We are like the glimmer of hope that will not die. And I LOVE IT!

I attended a recruitment party at a local chapter the other day and got sooooo excited for recruitment. My chapter of initiation begins "rush" in a few weeks and some of our girls (who were helping out) really knocked the other chapter's socks off with their recruitment skills. I was sooooo proud!

51 new Phis at Theta Gamma!

16 new Phis at Gamma Chi- so exciting :)

Gamma Lambda took quota (48) plus two for a total of 50 new Phis! It was our first formal recruitment, and we did better than anyone ever could have expected...I'm so proud of my chapter.

My grandlittle is the cutest thing ever. She sent me a message on facebook today wishing me a happy grandparent's day (since I am her grand big) and she told me she missed me a lot. It really made my day and makes me miss my sisters and school so much.

We're looking forward to having a great recruitment. We're working on getting the house cleaned up right now for our fall COB. We've already been getting a LOT of interest! And we're getting ready to play in Sigma Chi's Derby Days powderpuff tournament and I think the Phi Mu team will definitely have a strong showing this year. :D

I am very excited because one of my littles, who spent a great deal of time traveling is back and is doing her last semester. I'm also very excited because her twin is back from Rho Gamma land (it killed me that I couldn't talk to her most of the summer, I don't know how she did it when I was a Pi Chi last year!) Two of my others are currently serving as chairs for the chapter. So we're having a great semester.

I wish girls would post what schools they are from and how they did for recruitment this year....it's killing me!

Zeta Lambda at NWMSU (quota = 27, total = 75) extended bids to 32 bringing total to 83!

Okay, after checking out their greek life page-it states that Betty Degeneres is a sister. Is this true?

I've also heard that Lilly Tomlin and Belinda Carlisle are members, as well. Anyone else know???

I'm too excited! 3 of my 5 have taken littles!

My last #5, took twins and the baby #4, took 1, #2 took 1. I'm still trying to find out if I'm a great grand big from #1's first little (but it seems like maybe not :-( )

Oh-And from what I saw on Wed. @ Lynn-so far so good!

ETA: I AM OFFICIALLY A GREAT GRAND BIG FROM GBABY #1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So excited! My chapter turns 10 this month!
I am so proud of lambda eta! I also heard that they got some great new Phis through informal recruitment! :)

I am pretty much 100% positive who my little is but I wanna find out now because I am scared it won't be her and I will be crushed. As far as I know she ranked me as her top choice and vice versa.

Hey Ladies!

Just wanted to say that Gamma Delta here at American University is celebrating 75 AMAZING years of sisterhood this month in Washington, DC.. and also we now have 22 Beautiful Phis from informal fall recruitment and have reached Chapter Total for the first time in years!!

We are having a huge gala to commemorate our anniversary and Robin White Fanning is attending :) We are beyond excited !

Yay alyssa :) (i get excited when people from my chapter start getting on here... since i have been on for a while.. though not very actively) ... but yea, our chapter is super exciting this semester with the amazing new Phis and the 75th anniversary gala coming up in less than 2 weeks! :)

Yes, those are sisters from my chapter. The gray coat w/ hands in pocket is the current president. The picture includes many of the chairs, the most recent past president who will be a Consultant this year, and couple of my favorite and/or pledge sisters too!

Two of my littles are in the pic. The one on the opposite end in the Snoopy letters and the one next to me (w/ the Coach purselet) in the black w/ hot pink letters hoodie! The black hoodie is my 1st little, the blue/Snoopy lettered shirt is my 5th and last one. It was a very special family trip for us!

I love receiving the Aglaia in the mail. I drop everything to skim it immediately!

I didn't make it in this issue, though I have in the past. My second little made it in this one. :) On the technology page with Bloom, the picture in the bottom left corner, she has glasses in the pink shirt.

Glasses in the PINK shirt? You do realize, they are ALL wearing pink shirts...right? Lol...I love the Aglaia!

But I did look at it online. And one of my chapter sisters is quoted in it about bid day!

She was one of my residents when I was a RA and one of my Phi babies when I was Phi Mom. :)

Haha. Yea... but I think she's the only one in glasses. And then there's one girl in a black shirt with glasses if I remember correctly. Current sisters had the black shirts and new phis were in the pink. :)

Hey Ladies! (Okay, I realize that no one has posted on this thread in like.. over a year.. but I didn't know where exactly to put this.)

We had big/little reveal tonight & I got an AMAZINGGGGGGG BIG! Basically I love her & we're pretty much the same person & I was just so excited I had to post it on here with girls who would understand the excitement. :] (My boyfriend just laughs & thinks I'm crazy how excited I've been all week. I just say he's jealous that he didn't get awesome gifts when he was a pledge.)

Hey-there is nothing wrong with sharing your excitement with your sisters! During recruitment season, I rock out the lettered bags, shirts, jewelry, etc. (even though I'm almost 28 years-old) because recruitment is to me what the NFL draft is to my fiance. Please share more!!!

Oh yes! Since Bid Day, I really don't think I've gone a single day without wearing or having something Phi Mu related on me! And needless to say, I've already spent way too much on t-shirts. They keep telling us, "Oh you don't have to order every t-shirt" but let's be serious here.. I haven't skipped one yet. :) I keep joking that I'm going to have an entire dresser dedicated to Phi Mu but by the time I graduate I'm not so sure that will be a joke anymore!

When I went through rush, the only thing holding me back from Phi Mu was that I was worried the sisterhood may not be as strong as the other chapters since it had just started the previous year. On pref night I was definitely proved wrong! In a lot of ways, it even seemed stronger than other chapters. I love all my new sisters & just love that when I'm walking on campus with my Phi Mu bag, sisters that I haven't even met yet run up to me just to talk & say hey. :) We had our Phi Retreat last weekend & that brought all of us Phis a lottt closer! & our "Phi Mom" is seriously the sweetest person I have ever met!
Okay, I'm finished rambling now. :) haha

I totally understand. Did I share with everyone how excited I was, the other day at work? I was wearing my Phi Mu (Penn State) fleece with the letters in the quatrefoil. One of the nurses (an NP) I had been working with, for the last few weeks, noticed my fleece. Keep in mind I live in New York, where we no longer have any chapters. She looked up at me and said, "I'm in that sorority. I'm a Phi Mu." I smiled and said, "Seriously? From what chapter?" I figured she was just messing with me because as Treasurer of our local Alumnae Chapter, I had never seen her at an event. She said, "I'm from Beta Nu...at Bethany College in West Virginia." How cool was that???

Needless to say, I'm almost 28 years-old and I recently purchased (and now wear) a hoodie with the Phi Mu crest on it. I love all my Phi Mu stuff!!!

Sooo last week at work, I had just finished teaching (I'm a dance instructor), and was guzzling my Phi Mu water bottle while putting my paperwork away and getting ready to head out, when lo and behold one of the ladies who works in the office says "are you a Phi Mu?". Of course I replied with an emphatic "YES!" and she said "Me too!!!" She went to PSU, and is now in the Philly Alum Chapter- so happy I work with one of my sisters!

Just wanted to say that I'm now officially a PHI MU SISTER!! :) We had Initiation last Friday night & I'll admit I was pretty nervous since they wouldn't (well, couldn't) tell us anything & I didn't have the slightest idea what to expect. But it was amazing. :) I just have to keep explaining to my mom that I can't tell her anything! She wasn't Greek in college & didn't realize the whole strict secrecy aspect of it.

Two weeks ago, I found out our receptionist was a Phi Mu

Two days ago, I found out another instructor was.
