UGAalum94 08-17-2008 10:02 PM

What time do the girls get their bids at UGA tomorrow? I figure no info will be out until then right?

The info won't be made public until tomorrow but all of the houses should get bid lists tonight so they have time between tonight and tomorrow to snap if they have to. I don't remember what time they pick up bids but I know parties are at night.

DoctorD 08-17-2008 10:26 PM

Bid Day at UGA starts at 7:30 PM on Monday.

That's all I got:)

Are you sure you're not holding out on a bid list with a bunch of girls that we personally know, DoctorD?

What's the latest on GCSU expansion?

DoctorD 08-17-2008 11:11 PM

GCSU expansion is KD. Formal Recruitment is happening now - KD will start up soon.

Trust me, I'm not holding out on you. I am as in the dark as you are, and happily so.

I did meet one of your former students yesterday who is a current sister - don't remember her name, but we were working in the kitchen together. She said that you are good friends with her mom, too.

I know exactly who you mean.

It was looking for information during her rush that got me sucked into GreekChat.

I thought about going up to help with recruitment but thought I'd be wiped out by the first week. Have your classes started already?

DoctorD 08-17-2008 11:51 PM

they start Wednesday... but I'm already hard at work. Should be in bed... was in bed, but then had a thought that had to be dealt with or I couldn't sleep.

So with that, good night! Can't wait for news tomorrow :)

InHerShoes 08-18-2008 12:07 PM

so...I don't have specific numbers, but a little birdie told me that Gamma Alpha made at least quota without any snaps. :)

DoctorD 08-18-2008 01:02 PM

quota at UGA is 58... from a little birdie as well.

DoctorD 08-18-2008 08:04 PM

UGAalum94 08-18-2008 09:39 PM

Gamma Alpha pledged two girls I know. I'm so excited!

Release figures seem to have unlocked Gamma Alpha's recruitment potential! And of course, the present membership and advisers are doing an OUTSTANDING job!

85 years of awesomeness at Gamma Alpha, right? It is wonderful to see where the chapter is now. I certainly didn't mean to slight the history; it just seems like the last few recruitments have been especially great!

SassyPantsAGD 08-19-2008 12:49 AM

Congrats Gamma Alpha!!!

That is soooo exciting!!!

nancyagd86 08-19-2008 05:33 PM

Just goes to show that hard work does pay off! Yes, the members and advisors are wonderful and have put so much into this for the past several years. And a quick tip of the rose to the Alumnae Chapter, as well ;).
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAWGS!

AGDee 08-19-2008 06:08 PM

All of the Gamma Alphas I've ever met have been wonderful sisters and amazing women! Of course that's going to shine through!!!

Benzgirl 08-19-2008 06:11 PM

I love the carnival theme.

One of the girls I know who pledged and emailed me specifically mentioned the theme. She loved it.

Both girls are really, really excited about their bids.

Benzgirl 08-19-2008 08:21 PM

Didn't one of the chapters at USC do a carnival theme last year and have a ferris wheel in the front yard?

From a thread last year, it was Theta.

agd4rie 08-19-2008 09:43 PM

Go Gamma Alphas!

They did an amazing job while I was there. They returned so large. They are now over 200! I am a proud Gamma Alpha!

Is this the biggest we've ever been? I thought there were some big years in the 80s. Were we ever over 200 then?

DoctorD 08-19-2008 10:30 PM

no - we weren't. Largest I can remember is around 140-150. Chapter total was raised to 140 in late 80s/early 90s, if I remember correctly.

AGDLynn 08-20-2008 12:50 PM

Gamma Phi Results?

AGDLynn 08-20-2008 05:54 PM

Gamma Phi -- Quota Plus 10

Darn it, I don't know what Quota was, lol but I'm checking on that!:D

DoctorD 08-20-2008 06:19 PM

Benzgirl 08-20-2008 07:00 PM

Congrats to the Gamma Phi girls! I am so happy to hear of their success.

VandalSquirrel 08-20-2008 08:04 PM

Quota is 27 at Idaho this year, but I have no idea of what any group took.
