ANTM-Cycle 11

Yahoo just posted photos of the 14 contestants on Cycle 11

http://www.tv.yahoo.com/americas-nex...35130/photos/1

Analeigh, 19, Sacramento, CA
Brittany, 19, Henderson, NV
Clark, 19, Pawleys Island, SC
Elina, 19, Berdichieve, Ukraine (lives in Seattle, WA)
Isis, 22, Prince George's County, Maryland
Hannah, 19, Fairbanks, Alaska
Lauren Brie, 20, Charlottesville, Virginia
Joslyn, 23, Lucky, Lousiana
Marjorie, 19, Marseilles, France (lives in San Francisco, CA)
McKey, 19, Lake Forest, IL
Nikeysha, 19, Bronx, NY
Samantha, 18, Woodland Hills, CA
ShaRaun, 18, Chicago, IL
Sheena, 21, Honolulu, Hawaii

So I'm not sure if these are the "actual" contestants (I say that because I remember like 2 cycles ago, a website posting the contestants and it was completely wrong, but I do tend to trust Yahoo a bit).

I wonder how they're gonna pull that off. Even Janice Dickinson she wouldn't accept that type of model into her agency (it was a liability).

Even though the last cycle was one of the WEAKEST things I've ever seen, I'm excited for this cycle...in fact, I was ready for this cycle halfway through the last one. I had a class I wanted to take on Wednesday evenings, but I moved to the afternoon class--I'll be danged if I'm sitting in class Wednesday at 8pm. :o

I did watch janice Dickinson, and I can't remember if that trans model was pre or post op. Maybe the issue was that she was pre op? Maybe having the surgery completed is the difference? Tyra may not care though.

Have any of the winners from this show actually done any real modeling that wasn't show sponsored? Let me edit that by saying high fashion modeling, not just advertisements.

I believe Eva has - not sure about anyone else though.

I'm so excited for the new season. Though I was looking through some of those photos and I swear one of the girls looks like Sara (from the cycle Danielle won with Jade and Jody).

ree-Xi 08-14-2008 11:48 AM

I didn't see it listed... when is the premiere?

Two hour premiere on Wednesday, Sept 3rd! Can't wait!

ree-Xi 08-14-2008 02:26 PM

Woohoo! I wish it was on another day, though. I take a class on Wednesdays, it's ongoing. I guess I'll just have to record ANTM along with GhostHunters!

I know Eva, Yoanna, and Ya-Ya have and so has Bianca from cycle 9. The Greatly Obnoxious Jade apparently hit it big in Singapore (I think that's the country).

Get ready for Tyra's PSAs about transgendered individuals EVERY EPISODE!

LOL.

Michelle (the one who had to bleach her hair & then had that skin infection) has. As far as I know, she has been really successful. She recently got married to Johnny Fairplay (from Survivor) and had a daughter.

She had gone on Tyra shortly after her daughter was born and she looked soo pretty with her mahogany hair color.

I see Yaya ALL the time. She's been pretty successful. Other than the ones christiangirl said, I haven't seen many. I did see Caridee in a commercial for Crest White Strips.

Speaking of Caridee - she was in an episode of Gossip Girl. I think she was a girlfriend of Chuck Bass' dad.

And yes, I feel like a tweener when I watch that show :)

jojapeach 08-15-2008 01:01 PM

I recently saw Dani in a catalog for Met.roStyle.com. She looks pretty. I also saw Bianca in a recent issue of Essence magazine as the photograph model for a beach article. I guess I'd have to say no one has taken the world by storm, but a lot of them have taken advantage of the opportunity.

I'm looking forward to Isis on this cycle. Maybe this is a sign of other new things in the competition, too.

christiangirl 08-15-2008 07:35 PM

As for non-runway stuff, I've seen Ya-Ya in Kohl's ad, Eugena in a Wal-Mart poster, Nik on a mag cover, Ann in Made of Honor, Dani in a commercial, and Eva in several tv/movie spots. I've seen Yoanna and Toccara hosting tv and Mercedes in several commercials. Also, Eva's CG photospread is the ONLY one I've ever seen actually in print and Jaslene/Cari are the only ones I ever saw on the cover of Seventeen.

DSTCHAOS 08-15-2008 07:44 PM

My favorite YaYa commercials are the dancing Dr. Scholl's one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLS5Jkc5PSI) and the Garnier Fructis one where her hair was so healthy looking.

I have seen that Dr. Scholl's commercial a ton and never realized that was YaYa! Crazy!

WenD08 08-15-2008 08:39 PM

Eva is now on Y&R. Toccarra is in the "Black" issue of Vogue Italia from last month. she looks fabulous:) hopefully the spread will boost her career.

epchick 08-15-2008 08:46 PM

Yaya has also been in several movies and she's on a soap also.

ETA: Just googled it and Yaya's on All my Children

RBL 08-18-2008 10:47 AM

Ya Ya has been most successful

I had never seen that commercial until you mentioned it on here. Now I see it ALL the time.

I think Eva might have been more successful than Ya Ya.

AlphaFrog 08-19-2008 05:50 AM

I see Jaslene a TON on the Spanish channels. She's made it big in the Latino community.

I guess they don't have TVs in Singapore, because I don't know how anyone who watched Jade on ANTM could give her a job.

The funny thing is, I don't think I've ever seen a CoverGirl commercial OUTSIDE of the show that has an ANTM winner in it. It seems like the CoverGirl "contract" is more just prize money than an actual job contract. Now, disclaimer - I don't really read a lot of magazines, so if they're doing print work for CoverGirl, I would have missed it.

The only CG commercial with an ANTM winner in it outside of the show that I've seen was one for mascara with Queen Latifah. Dani was in it for a split second - it's the one where QL is walking down some sort of red carpet (at a movie premiere, I think) and Dani is in the crowd with another CG model. It aired probably a good six months ago, but has since stopped.

RBL 08-19-2008 10:46 AM

YaYa has been in Olay commercials and print.... ironic considering how much Tyra harped on her about her skin

AlphaXi_Husky 09-02-2008 11:25 PM

2 hour Season Premiere tomorrow at 8/7c!

So excited!

DreamfulSpirit 09-02-2008 11:56 PM

Wasn't Nik on "Dinner Impossible" on Food TV? She (if that was her) and another model, who was from Ireland, were assisting Robert on cooking, they were catering a swimsuit fashion show in NYC.

Jaslene was also in that issue of Metro.style...Toccara has been everywhere too.

kddani 09-03-2008 08:11 PM

this is so Willie Wonka... where's the oompa loompas?

christiangirl 09-04-2008 12:28 AM

^^hehe I took a sec for me to get what you meant. :o

So...impressions? I really wanted Lindsay to get it because she reminded me of Whitney, but I guess they really don't need 2 Whitneys in a row.

sunnyhibiscus 09-04-2008 12:37 AM

As far as who got eliminated tonight (from 14 to 13), I wasn't at all surprised.

My three favorites so far are Eline, Majorie and Isis.

knight_shadow 09-04-2008 02:05 AM

The "theme" they had going on was kind of whack.

I'm glad that got rid of that loud-mouthed chick early, though. She was very annoying...

33girl 09-04-2008 09:59 AM

OK gang - is there honestly anyone out there NOT rooting for the tranny?

I like Marjorie's 'do but I wanted to throw a bucket of dark brown hair dye through the screen. The blonde is BAD.

Clark is obviously this cycle's bitch and that's the only reason they're keeping her.

BTW, did Eva get married or did she just change her last name?

BabyPiNK_FL 09-04-2008 10:55 AM

The model formerly known as Eva Pigford? I heard she switched to her middle name as a last name. She didn't get married as far as I know.

NAU_OPhiA 09-04-2008 11:11 AM

Is anyone else glad that they finally decided to have only one girl at a time read the Tyra Mail? ...Instead of EVERYBODY all at once!

So far I like Elina, Marjorie, Sheena, and Isis.

I am not rooting for her; however, I still don't appreciate the remarks the other girls are making about her. It is kind of heartless. I am so glad Kacey did not make the finals. That is one arrogant and condescending chick.

I cannot WAIT for the makeover show.

And what the HELL kind of crack do they smoke at Tyra's production company to come up with such a ridiculous "theme" - it was BAD. Full of cheese. Velveeta, not even real cheese.

Hannah gets called a racist. And it looks like Elina and Clark make out a little in the pool.

I also HATED the future theme crap. It was horribly cheesy. I wanted to change the channel. The special effects and props looked like it was taken off the set of "2001: A Space Odyssey"

DreamfulSpirit 09-04-2008 02:24 PM

Yes...I'm watching it on DVR right now, this whole futuristic thing is soooo stupid looking!

I knew it! I was checking out another model and thinking that it might be Jaslene. Thanks for confirming.

I loved that they did a "what are they doing now" insert with Tocarra in that Black model edition of Italian Vogue. Tocarra was stunning.

What was truly stupid was Mr. J with long hair. WTF??? Don't do that 1993 'do EVER again...especially when you're critiquing others. I know if I were standing in front of him like that, my face would've betrayed me and showed what I was thinking: WTF? *grinds my gears*

LeslieAGD 09-04-2008 04:08 PM

lol, I thought I had gone back to the 80s last night. Mr. Jay's hair screamed "Wham!"

I liked Analeigh and Elina best, but Joslyn and Marj. have potential.

Lol, as someone mentioned earlier, Eva's middle name is Marcelle so she tweaked the spelling a bit for a last name. I don't think "Pigford" screams model to her. ;)

No, I'm not voting for Isis on principle. A weave and a dress do not a woman make. I don't care how much he tapes his thing to his leg--it's still there and he's still a man. People nitpicked over Saleisha and whether her commercials violated contract terms, yet someone with a penis is in a female competition and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. That's not fair by any stretch of the imagination. However, I'm not okay with all the hater comments from those girls. That was cruel. I mean really, put your big girl pants on and grow up. It was the set of a professional photo shoot, not Mean Girls.

ETA: I loved Analeigh for her figure skater-ness. :D Elina and Marjorie both irk me and the girl from Lucky (the one who tried out over 30 times) reminds me of Robyn from Cycle 1 without the psychotic Jesus-freakiness.
