Even though the last cycle was one of the WEAKEST things I've ever seen, I'm excited for this cycle...in fact, I was ready for this cycle halfway through the last one. I had a class I wanted to take on Wednesday evenings, but I moved to the afternoon class--I'll be danged if I'm sitting in class Wednesday at 8pm. :o |

Have any of the winners from this show actually done any real modeling that wasn't show sponsored? Let me edit that by saying high fashion modeling, not just advertisements.

I'm so excited for the new season. Though I was looking through some of those photos and I swear one of the girls looks like Sara (from the cycle Danielle won with Jade and Jody). |
I didn't see it listed... when is the premiere?

Woohoo! I wish it was on another day, though. I take a class on Wednesdays, it's ongoing. I guess I'll just have to record ANTM along with GhostHunters!

She had gone on Tyra shortly after her daughter was born and she looked soo pretty with her mahogany hair color. |

And yes, I feel like a tweener when I watch that show :) |
I recently saw Dani in a catalog for Met.roStyle.com. She looks pretty. I also saw Bianca in a recent issue of Essence magazine as the photograph model for a beach article. I guess I'd have to say no one has taken the world by storm, but a lot of them have taken advantage of the opportunity.
I'm looking forward to Isis on this cycle. Maybe this is a sign of other new things in the competition, too. |
As for non-runway stuff, I've seen Ya-Ya in Kohl's ad, Eugena in a Wal-Mart poster, Nik on a mag cover, Ann in Made of Honor, Dani in a commercial, and Eva in several tv/movie spots. I've seen Yoanna and Toccara hosting tv and Mercedes in several commercials. Also, Eva's CG photospread is the ONLY one I've ever seen actually in print and Jaslene/Cari are the only ones I ever saw on the cover of Seventeen.
|
My favorite YaYa commercials are the dancing Dr. Scholl's one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLS5Jkc5PSI) and the Garnier Fructis one where her hair was so healthy looking.

Eva is now on Y&R. Toccarra is in the "Black" issue of Vogue Italia from last month. she looks fabulous:) hopefully the spread will boost her career.
|
Yaya has also been in several movies and she's on a soap also.
ETA: Just googled it and Yaya's on All my Children |
Ya Ya has been most successful

I see Jaslene a TON on the Spanish channels. She's made it big in the Latino community.
I guess they don't have TVs in Singapore, because I don't know how anyone who watched Jade on ANTM could give her a job. The funny thing is, I don't think I've ever seen a CoverGirl commercial OUTSIDE of the show that has an ANTM winner in it. It seems like the CoverGirl "contract" is more just prize money than an actual job contract. Now, disclaimer - I don't really read a lot of magazines, so if they're doing print work for CoverGirl, I would have missed it. |

YaYa has been in Olay commercials and print.... ironic considering how much Tyra harped on her about her skin
|
2 hour Season Premiere tomorrow at 8/7c!
So excited! |
Wasn't Nik on "Dinner Impossible" on Food TV? She (if that was her) and another model, who was from Ireland, were assisting Robert on cooking, they were catering a swimsuit fashion show in NYC.

this is so Willie Wonka... where's the oompa loompas?
|
^^hehe I took a sec for me to get what you meant. :o
So...impressions? I really wanted Lindsay to get it because she reminded me of Whitney, but I guess they really don't need 2 Whitneys in a row. |
As far as who got eliminated tonight (from 14 to 13), I wasn't at all surprised.
My three favorites so far are Eline, Majorie and Isis. |
The "theme" they had going on was kind of whack.
I'm glad that got rid of that loud-mouthed chick early, though. She was very annoying... |
OK gang - is there honestly anyone out there NOT rooting for the tranny?
I like Marjorie's 'do but I wanted to throw a bucket of dark brown hair dye through the screen. The blonde is BAD. Clark is obviously this cycle's bitch and that's the only reason they're keeping her. BTW, did Eva get married or did she just change her last name? |
The model formerly known as Eva Pigford? I heard she switched to her middle name as a last name. She didn't get married as far as I know.
|
Is anyone else glad that they finally decided to have only one girl at a time read the Tyra Mail? ...Instead of EVERYBODY all at once!
So far I like Elina, Marjorie, Sheena, and Isis. |

I am not rooting for her; however, I still don't appreciate the remarks the other girls are making about her. It is kind of heartless. I am so glad Kacey did not make the finals. That is one arrogant and condescending chick. |
Quote:
Hannah gets called a racist. And it looks like Elina and Clark make out a little in the pool. I also HATED the future theme crap. It was horribly cheesy. I wanted to change the channel. The special effects and props looked like it was taken off the set of "2001: A Space Odyssey" |
Yes...I'm watching it on DVR right now, this whole futuristic thing is soooo stupid looking!

I loved that they did a "what are they doing now" insert with Tocarra in that Black model edition of Italian Vogue. Tocarra was stunning. Quote:

lol, I thought I had gone back to the 80s last night. Mr. Jay's hair screamed "Wham!"
I liked Analeigh and Elina best, but Joslyn and Marj. have potential. |

No, I'm not voting for Isis on principle. A weave and a dress do not a woman make. I don't care how much he tapes his thing to his leg--it's still there and he's still a man. People nitpicked over Saleisha and whether her commercials violated contract terms, yet someone with a penis is in a female competition and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. That's not fair by any stretch of the imagination. However, I'm not okay with all the hater comments from those girls. That was cruel. I mean really, put your big girl pants on and grow up. It was the set of a professional photo shoot, not Mean Girls. ETA: I loved Analeigh for her figure skater-ness. :D Elina and Marjorie both irk me and the girl from Lucky (the one who tried out over 30 times) reminds me of Robyn from Cycle 1 without the psychotic Jesus-freakiness. |
