HI!

I am actually a member of the Greek Lettered Organization for Beauty Industry Professionals, Alpha Chi Pi Omega Sorority and Fraternity, Inc. I understand that the website is outdated but rest assured that it will be updated soon. We do, indeed, have ties to Mary Mcleod Bethune; she was one of our founders. Our other founders are Dr. Marjorie Stewart Joyner and Congressman William Dawson. We just finished with our 64th Annual National Convention in Dallas,TX. If you would like more information, please email me at devonthestylist@studiosevinstyling.net ! I might be of some help, I have just been appointed as the National Coordinator of Communications. Hope to hear from you, soon!

I know that I wrote this (and other posts) using the Symbol font (did it in email then copied and pasted), but it's not showing up. I also realize that "letters" in a lot of signatures show the English alphabet but not the Greek equivalent.

I don't know when this changed for me. I am on a MAC now, does that matter? Even the Symbol font in my email program doesn't work. Any ideas?

Lastly, is there a way to customize this forum and add Symbol font?

TIA

^^ There's a thread on that.

I searched (thank you for pointing it out), and the recommendation doesn't work on my MAC, but the bigger problem is that I can't see them in many cases. My original post in this thread now reads to me as:

"KUT
CWR
KRL
SNP
HAIR"

Hubby just discovered that my fonts folder is missing the SYMBOL font, so he's looking for it to add. The font does work in word (has to do with the app using unicode or something), so I'm testing to see if it works when I copy and paste.

AXD ~ GSS

Nope, doesn't work. We'll see what hubby finds. Thank you anyway.

Where, cause I have the same issue?

ree-Xi 08-11-2010 04:29 PM

None of the threads that have been resurrected have been able to help me. I'm on a Mac and use Firefox. We are looking for the font to add to my system. When my husband gets a chance, he's going to see if he has it on his MAC and then try to add it to mine. Of course, it's not a hot priority for him, lol.

Hmm, google an answer? The alternative solution of using the character map letters in other fonts will work for yourself.

Seriously though, google's pretty good at this sort of thing.

Yes, I googled. (I am net savvy; I used to be a Technical Business Analyst at Monster.com). It's a system issue. My husband has been a software engineer for more than a decade, so he takes care of the computer stuff. We have a network at home, so a lot of stuff lives out there versus on our machines themselves. He just hasn't had the time to do it in the past two days.
