LOL! Wow, you're addicted to Michael Phelps. ;):p

CutiePie2000 08-10-2008 02:13 AM

They played a kinda weird version of the American anthem, IMO. They kinda repeated the first bit like 3x, and then cut it short. Oh well.

I thought that was a little weird, as well. My mom didn't notice though, so I thought I was just hearing things!

Maybe some Gremlins came by.

SoCalGirl 08-10-2008 03:57 AM

At first I thought they had the wrong country's music. I'm glad Phelps (and the President) took the song being cut short in stride. Lord knows there are countries where this would become a major major issue.

Benzgirl 08-10-2008 06:41 PM

I thought at the start of the anthem it sounded like they played it twice

Nope, I'm just bored. I do admit that I'm always glued to the TV during the whole olympics.

LucyKKG 08-10-2008 10:39 PM

He set a new record today!

Yes, so I thought it sounded a lil' bit odd.

BetteDavisEyes 08-10-2008 11:32 PM

Update time!

Michael Phelps won his 2nd gold!

irishpipes 08-10-2008 11:34 PM

That relay was beyond incredible. Lezak will be on Phelps' Christmas card list forever.

luv n tpa 08-10-2008 11:35 PM

 THAT KICKED ASS.

irishpipes 08-10-2008 11:35 PM

French ass

jwright25 08-10-2008 11:37 PM

If you looked close, you could see a little bit of the top-of-the-butt. Very nice. I second whoever it was calling for the return of the speedo.

That was a great relay.

piphiangel314 08-10-2008 11:37 PM

I think I just had a heart palpitation while watching that race. Holy.

KSUViolet06 08-10-2008 11:38 PM

That relay was legendary.

That was a great relay.

On the replay as Phelps was cheering Lezak on, jumping up and down, his suit was sliding lower and lower - in the front. It came close.

Ahhh yes. I caught that too. Where's the wardrobe malfunction when you need it?

irishpipes 08-10-2008 11:49 PM

They'll be raising the US flag soon enough. ;)

Benzgirl 08-11-2008 11:35 AM

I thought it was cool that the NBA players were in the stands during the 200 Fly.

KDAngel 08-11-2008 11:35 AM

· 8:15 a.m. Men's 200m Butterfly -- Heats ::New OR with 1:53.70

CRAZY.

LttleMsPrEp 08-11-2008 11:38 AM

That relay was AMAZING!!! def. olympic history.. i'm soo happy the French didn't win after all their trash talking...

favorite part?? when the commentators said "maybe the French should've used a word other than smash"

I was praying that Phelp's swimsuit would slide just a smidge lower.. (it was soo close)

Gaylord Focker 08-11-2008 06:50 PM

Michael Phelps is an ass, just like Mark Spitz before him.

http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/new...=afp&type=lgns

I hope he chokes in the 200IM or 100FLY. Ryan Locte and Ian Crocker need some gold for themselves.

""I won seven events. If they had the 50m freestyle back then, which they do now, I probably would have won that too," he said."

Gee, there were the 400 and 1500, the TWO backstrokes, the TWO breaststrokes and the IM? I'm sure he could have PROBABLY won those too.l

I watched Spitz win each of those medals. I cheered him on. I had the team suit. We all idolized him. But even when I was 10 years old, I knew he had an ego (we called it "stuck-up" at that age)

Special invitations don't go out to everyone. Was Janet Evans invited? For those who don't know, she had the longest standing Olympic swimming record (400 Free). I doubt that she was whining about not being invited.

Sure, if Locte or Crocker have the ability, I wish them the best. But get over your blubbering about Spitz and buy him a ticket for Bejing yourself.

AOII_LB93 08-11-2008 08:02 PM

"I never got invited. You don't go to the Olympics just to say, I am going to go. Especially because of who I am," Spitz told AFP in Hong Kong.

LAME...get over yourself. Last time I checked, you don't have to be invited to watch in the stands you puke. MAybe you didn't get invited because you're an ass!

Johnny-on-the-spot with Visa's congratulations commercial!

ComradesTrue 08-12-2008 10:31 PM

He is an absolute freak of nature, and I can't stop watching.:)

Did anyone else catch the piece last night where he said that he has to eat 10,000 calories every single day? And despite all those calories, he has never weighed over 200 pounds.

luv n tpa 08-12-2008 11:29 PM

Well hellooooo Gold #5.

&& World Record broken by 5 seconds @ 6:58:56!

lilzetakitten 08-12-2008 11:32 PM

That wasn't even a race. That was a domination.

piphiangel314 08-12-2008 11:56 PM

I adore Michael Phelps. Just sayin'.

And I watched the little thing about his life. The 10,000 calories thing made me sick. I want his metabolism so bad. And I want his dog! So adorable.
