DST's 49th Convention in Orlando
 

Our convention this year is from July 24-30 in Orlando, FL. Can you believe that is two and a half weeks away??!!

Who is attending this year?

I promised two years ago that I would be in Orlando with bells and whistles on. I'm getting the bells and whistles ready because I will be there! :D :D I hope I get a chance to meet all of my lovely GC sorors!!

Are any of the Rosen hotels considered official host hotels? We (APhiA) had ours at the Rosen Shingle Creek last summer...simply magnificent! Like a palace! Well worth the money. The owner is very community concious, too.

One of them is the "headquarters" hotel and two others (in which one I am staying at) are official hotels. Glad to see that great review!

I'll be in Orlando also. I'm hoping we will have a GC meeting there.

I'll be there! It is my first National Convention, and I am SOOOO EXCITED!:D I can't wait for this experience of a lifetime!

I will be completing my LAST weekend of classes so I will not be able to attend and I'm bitter :(

I'm staying at a timeshare property not too far from the Convention Center. It should just be renamed "Delta Village" that week cause we will be painting that place crimson and cream.

Maybe some of us GC'er sorors can link up. I cant wait, I know the heat is going to be more crazy than in Philly! Can't wait to take in all the festivities including the TRAAAAAAAAAADE SHOW....whattttttttttt!

I'll be there from 25-31st soaking in all that good fun and sisterly bonds!

Senusret, I went to some of the Alpha events at the Rosen Shingle Creek, and that hotel is beautiful.

Sorors, I won't be there but it seems like a lot of you all are wanting to meet (it was great meeting the GC sorors back in '06 in Philly) but no one's running with the ball. LOL! So, who's willing to set out their hotel room? Whoever is, everyone else PM that soror and yall get it going!

As for the meet and greet, maybe we can meet at one of the restaurants at the hotel(s) instead of a room. Especially since I don't know how big the rooms are or how many sorors are going to show up.

The Omega White Party is Friday night at the House of Blues. You can get your tickets online through Ticketmaster (I think I will buy it at Publix if they will allow it). It's also good if you join the FB group for the convention as well.

yea..I will. I couldn't get all those days off:(. So, I am just going to get what I can and enjoy that. Hopefully next time I'll be able to stay longer. I still registered and all so I am planning to have a blast of a weekend!

Can't wait to see everyone. I am staying at the Parc Coniche...with 4 of my LS's so feel free to swing by.

Yea. I will be at the Step Show...we can meet there! I do want to got to the Welcome Party...but $35 is a bit much to stand around. I may swing through to see who is hanging outside.;)

I got an e-mail via Facebook about another Omega party that Friday night. I think it's for the undergrads (Velocity, check your FB e-mail). I don't know about that since you have to be 18 to get in that one and 21 (but recommending 25) for the white party.

I think most of us are going to the step show. Does anyone want to meet before or after that, or should we meet sooner (after opening ceremony, during the White Party)?

I'll be off of work soon and I'm leaving in the morning for Orlando! For the ones who are going, I hope you have a safe trip and hope to meet you there! For the ones who are not going, we will be thinking of you and hold it down here on GC!
