Favorite Alcoholic Drink?

Just wondering what everyone's favorite drinks and shots are?

Guys, what do you order a lady you're buying a shot for?

PiKA2001 07-05-2008 09:41 PM

I would have to say knob creek with a splash of coke for my signature drink ( of course beer as well). During the summer if i'm at a pool or outside in the sun I'll drink rum & soda sometimes. As for buying a lady a shot, I usually get something lite like a kamikaze or pineapple upside down cake.

aephi alum 07-05-2008 10:35 PM

My favorite drink: a very dry Tanqueray martini, straight up with a twist.

As a straight, married woman, I'd hardly be buying a shot for another lady. ;) Theoretically speaking, if I were single - if a man bought me a fruity drink or shot, I would not be going home with him. He can offer to buy me a drink, but I pick the drink. Some women prefer scotch to pink drinks.

You are a rare breed, most girls I know wouldn't do a shot of whiskey or scotch at all.

Normally not a girly girl, but I'm pretty girly in this area...Smirnoff Ice, especially the Artic Berry flavor. I'm a fan of Boone's Farm also.

I don't do shots. I'm scared to do them, you'll be surpised what a few beers and smirnoff ices does to me.

Have you had the Smirnoff Source yet? I've yet to see it anywhere but my brothers house, but I tried it and it's not a bad substitute for water ;)

Mint Julep.

Everclear and White Wine mixed together.

Chivas Regal 18 year on the rocks

LucyKKG 07-05-2008 11:14 PM

Jack n coke!

I do like the fruity drinks as well, though. Mai tais, anyone?

nate2512 07-05-2008 11:25 PM

I generally gauge pretty well as to what to what the girl will take, I generally pick something that tastes good but hits hard. Occasionally I'll go for a Superman. Most times though, I'll get a Red Snapper or a Prince Albert, or both.

As for myself, I generally drink beer. If I go mixed though, its usually Crown & Coke. I variate though, it changes with atmosphere.

For some reason though, guys around here don't really buy girls drinks, I normally spend more on shots for girls than I actually spend on myself though.

cutiepatootie 07-05-2008 11:32 PM

rum and coke sounds good right about now

christiangirl 07-05-2008 11:32 PM

I know I'll probably get some  looks for posting in this thread, but as I'm over 21, I figured I'd give my input.

My favorite drink is the Paradise Cosmo. I'm a fruity mixer kinda girl. As for shots, I usually stick to tequila (straight, no salt, no chaser). I like silver and gold almost equally, but I try to limit myself to two (I've toned it down quite a bit since college). I enjoyed Hennessey the first time I had it, but it burned so much I lost my voice. Not inclined to do that again.

Chicken!

piphiangel314 07-06-2008 02:22 AM

I don't drink to get drunk. I actually only drink wine with dinner and beer with the occasional dinner (even though I am underage - I know this. But I have a very European family, so it sort of goes without asking...).

I prefer this wine that is made in Southern Illinois called Black & Blue. It's blueberry and blackberries. It goes well with big Italian dinners!

summer_gphib 07-06-2008 08:33 AM

Whiskey sours. :D

catiebug 07-06-2008 09:06 AM

If I'm buying a drink myself, I prefer something that I can sip and it lasts a while, so I usually get a Bushmills or Jamesons straight up.

If someone else is buying, I like Belvedere and Seven with just a splash of grenadine. I call it an alcoholic Shirley Temple.

Either that or a very nice merlot.

KSigkid 07-06-2008 09:24 AM

My favorite hard alcohol drinks are a glass of either whiskey or scotch. I don't tend to drink mixed drinks.

I'm also a big fan of good beers; stuff from microbreweries, brands like Rogue, Chimay, Ten Penny Ale (CT local), Sam Adams, Harpoon, etc.

SWTXBelle 07-06-2008 09:36 AM

Summer - Pimm's Cup
Scotch - ONLY Blair Atholl (can't buy it in the states, though)
Martini - I like appletinis
after-dinner - Grand Marnier (the 25 yr. old if they have it!)
otherwise - amaretto sour

I'm going to a Pimm's Party this weekend! I'm so excited...

honeychile 07-06-2008 11:29 AM

These are the traditional drink of a reunion I attend:

Blowjob (Shooter)
Bailey's Irish Cream, Kahlua, Whipped Cream

BabyPiNK_FL 07-06-2008 11:39 AM

Drink: Amaretto & Sprite to function, Appletini or Sex & the City (not a Cosmo this is different) to lose my mind
Shot: Liquid Cocaine or Tequila if my big is around :looks warily for her:

tld221 07-06-2008 12:22 PM

Drinks: Cranberry & Disaronno, Mojitos, Margaritas, Rum & Coke (im a cheap drink, throw some Cruzan Mango rum in there, or plain ol Bacardi will do), Grapefruit and Absolut Ruby Red, Long Island, good ol pitcher of sangria
Beers: Blue Moon, Corona, Hoegaarden
Shots: Cuervo (i dont do them often), Patron (if someone else is buying)

Drinks i WONT mess with:
SoCo and Coke (just the smell and im done)
shots of Jaeger (did it once, once too many)

62231 07-06-2008 12:36 PM

I only have three drinks when I hit the bars.

Whiskey and Coke
Gin and Tonic
Coors Light

I'll send a whiskey sour to the ladies.

EDIT: All the girls I know have started drinking vodka with water and lime/lemon juice. I guess it doesn't have any calories, but it just tastes like weird tap water.

ADqtPiMel 07-06-2008 12:45 PM

I stick to Bacardi and diet, sugar-free Red Bull and vodka, or light beer. No need to take in a day's worth of calories while drinking.

Kevin 07-06-2008 12:56 PM

It depends on the occasion. For summer family get-togethers, there's beer. I trend towards the microbrews, but I'll drink good imports when I can. I'm a big fan of Spaten Optimator. You might also catch me drinking a gin & tonic or something simple like that in the Summer.

For evenings, I prefer good scotch. Single malt. What kind depends on what I feel like.

I will always love martinis; however, I have been really loving a mojito or my new favorite- capt. n coke.

Still, you can't go wrong with a drink mixed with vodka. :)

I do love an amaretto sour or a lemon drop.

But, my most favorite drink is two shots of Jim Beam Whiskey & Ginger Ale. Yum!

I'm one of the few who actually enjoy straight tequila as a favorite drink ;D

But I also like K.C. Ice Waters...

KSigRC is a huge tequila fan as well. I'm not that much into it, but I have realized that I don't mind a really good tequila.

The very word "tequila" makes me a little ill... Never, ever will it touch my lips again!

AGDee 07-06-2008 10:47 PM

I hadn't had a drink in almost 4 years because the last one I'd had set off a 2 week Crohn's flare. I decided it just wasn't worth it. I decided last month to try one and see what happened since I've been in remission for a while now. I had a frozen strawberry margarita, one of my fave drinks and I was fine! Therefore, I tried a glass of wine a few days later and I was fine! Those are two of my favorites. My total favorite is simply Bailey's on ice. I haven't tried that yet because that's the one that sent me into the two week flare before. I'm getting tempted to give it a try though. I won't try more than one drink every once in a while because I don't want to push my luck, but I do say that it's nice to know I can have a glass of chardonnay from time to time.

cheerfulgreek 07-07-2008 01:15 AM

I don't do shots but I like Guinness

http://sp1.yt-thm-a04.yimg.com/image/25/f11/70167156 mmm good!:)

nate2512 07-07-2008 01:23 AM

I bought a shot of patron for a girl, that stuff is vicious.

christiangirl 07-07-2008 02:34 AM

AGDee, I'm so glad to hear about your remission, that's fantastic!

Mmmm, my favorite. :o I've just been introduced to Two Fingers Silver. Not as smooth or as strong, but the quality is still better than the price would let on. For something light, like when I'm at a friend's, I'll have a glass of Martini & Rossi Asti. Maybe if I'm out I'll have a Shirley Temple or a Coke with a shot of Passion Fruit Malibu. I like flavorful things that aren't too strong.

I refuse to buy patron/grey goose/remy/etc for girls because they heard it in a rap song and that's the only reason they know of it. These same girls usually started off in high school drinking smirnoff ice and corona.

I've heard that more times than I can count because some poor sap wanted to match me shot for shot ... *tsk* stupid mistake :D

DoubleTDG 07-07-2008 11:02 AM

My favorite sipping drink would be gin and pineapple juice or x-rated on the rocks, my favorite beer would be shiner, my favorite shot is a hard one but chocolate cake or red headed slut (used to be vodka can't do that now), favorite martini is a wedding cake martini, and finally favorite wine is the Llano Port.
