The Mole is coming back!

I loved this show and it's back on ABC starting Monday, June 2nd! Woot!

SoCalGirl 05-20-2008 11:06 PM

If only Anderson Cooper would come back to host. :sigh:

CutiePie2000 05-20-2008 11:07 PM

Yes, although the host is not Anderson Cooper. Sigh...

tld221 05-20-2008 11:11 PM

i saw the ad in Times Square and i thought my eyes were playing tricks! yay, i enjoyed that show!

Thetagirl218 05-20-2008 11:23 PM

I have never seen nor heard of this show? Is it like Big Brother or something?

polarpi 05-21-2008 01:10 AM

I am SO excited about this show coming back - love it! :)

TotallyWicked 05-21-2008 02:41 AM

YES!!!!!

I don't care who the host is..the missions and the drama is amazing :D I am stoked! I always liked the mole and the amazing race, it reminds me of the older seasons of Road Rules :D

No, there are usually 12 contestants, one of which is a Mole, the contestants are given clues of who the mole is and are eliminated by the their failing to answer questions correctly on who the Mole is..pretty good stuff.

And I see a fellow Rambler is on the show this season! :D

There is a little more to it than that. The contestants are not just trying to figure out the mole. The are also completing challenges to win money. Meanwhile, the mole is doing everything in his or her power to secretly sabatoge the game by preventing the others from winning money. So to stay in the game, the others must answer questions about who they think the mole is. On each episode, the one who answers the least amount of questions correctly gets "executed" (eliminated).

This was my favorite show until it got corny by using "celebrities" as the players. So I am excited that they are bringing the original back.

I'm excited.

To further complicate things, players who aren't the mole will sabotage games in order to trick the other contestants and get them eliminated. :D

lol. I forgot about that part.

TrojanWoman 05-21-2008 06:46 PM

I can't wait . . . it has been so long since The Mole was on the air, and I'm not counting celebrity mole. This and Amazing Race are my favorites!

ZTABullwinkle 05-21-2008 09:32 PM

I love this show. It is along the lines of Amazing Race.

Does anyone remember the summer series "Treasure Hunters?" That is one also that I really enjoyed.

Yes I loved that show!! The clues and challenges were so fascinating! During the time it was on, I remember being really sick with a stomach virus. I had so much fun laying in bed, watching the show, and munching on crackers. lol!! Good times...:p

AGDee 05-21-2008 11:10 PM

Treasure Hunters was good too! I like the ones that require some level of intelligence rather than just manipulating people.

I am glad someone else remembers it. I played the online game also. I wish they would do that one again.

But, back to the topic of this thread. I was disappointed in the celebrity version of this. But then again, it wasn't with Anderson Cooper. I so wish he would be able to do this hosting job again.

AGDLynn 05-21-2008 11:27 PM

I thought it was Moracco Mole!;)

TotallyWicked 06-02-2008 11:03 PM

so first ep is done..any guesses on who the mole is?

I am thinking Paul or Liz..Paul would be too obvious..Liz wouldn't so that's why I think it's her.

tld221 06-02-2008 11:09 PM

DARN i missed it?!

please please tell me its on ABC.com

DoctorD 06-02-2008 11:17 PM

no clue, although one of the people going over the waterfall had the thumb print on her helmet. I didn't see it on any of the others. And of course I can't remember her name!

Didn't they used to put clues sporadically in the episodes about the mole's identity?

Yes. At the end of the season they'll recap all the clues. In season 1 Anderson Cooper was holding (or standing next to) Kathryn's bag in the first episode when he asked "Who's the mole?" :)

Really? I recorded it on my DV-R I'll re-watch it tomorrow.

I forget..how was it possible that Kathryn left before the winner? How did she mess up on that quiz, when she knew all the answers?!

I'm wondering how it did ratings-wise...i'm hoping it does well so I can audition for the next season!

SoCalGirl 06-03-2008 02:32 AM

Who got the #11 notebook?

MysticCat 06-03-2008 07:13 AM

Shoot. I forgot that it started last night until about the last 10 minutes.

AGDee 06-03-2008 08:46 AM

Well, it was hockey night at the AGDee household so no Mole this week. I'll have to watch it online and start DVRing it next week. I actually forgot it was on too.

TotallyWicked 06-03-2008 07:35 PM

come on people stop forgetting we want it to stay on LOL

thesweetestone 06-03-2008 07:48 PM

I hope that Craig is not going complain every time that he has to do physical activity. He had to know that he would have to so some running around on these missions.

That was Victoria - it seemed a *bit* too obvious on her helmet, which is odd! I'm pretty sure none of the other players had the thumbprint on their head ;)

I can't recall who got Journal # 11 - I don't think they revealed that to us as of yet :)

TW - maybe I'm misunderstanding your question (about Kathryn), but I think SoCalGirl was just saying that Anderson was standing by Kathryn's bag/holding it - but not as he was ushering her from the game. (I only started watching halfway through season 2)

No real guess on who the mole is yet - but I have to say I don't like the "new" way to reveal who's eliminated (I liked the typing in the name better in stead of touch-screen technology :D)

SoCalGirl 06-05-2008 12:21 AM

It seemed like the thumbprint on Victoria's helmet was added in post production.

And yes, it was Season 1's first episode in which Anderson was holding Kahryn's bag.

I'm wondering how she got eliminated and didn't win the entire game...does the Mole attempt to win the game or solely sabotage others from winning a large amount? It's been a while, I forgot!

Here is the unveiling of Kathryn as the Mole in season 1:

SoCalGirl 06-05-2008 09:06 AM

If one of the final two players correctly identify the mole then she/he is eliminated.

Hmm - I guess I didn't remember that part - I figured that the mole didn't have a chance to win the game!

And good call on the thumbprint being added postproduction - that would be rather obvious to the people there as she's going over the falls if their helmets didn't have anything and hers had the giant neon green print! :)

SoCalGirl 06-06-2008 01:08 AM

Maybe I'm wrong. Off to the mole website! :)

LucyKKG 06-10-2008 01:57 AM

Maybe I should post this on the "finding your letters somewhere you didn't expect" thread, but I SWEAR I just saw AXO letters on The Mole. They were on the decorative top part of a cemetery column? Weird weirdness!

Might it just have been A and W? That's a very common symbol in Christian contexts, including cemeteries and graves. (It refers to Christ as "the beginning and the end" of all things.)

BLUPERFECTION03 06-10-2008 12:04 PM

Bobby had me dying last night..having old girl push him around in a wheelborrow and trying to speak spanish to the store owner. He is so weak..but I really believe that the blonde chick is the mole. :eek:OMG the black woman is crazy..talking about "I hope you wake up dead" and "I can kill you without any forensic evidence?" Umm K!!

I got a glimpse of that too (just in passing, and I thought - whoa! :)) I think it probably was only the Alpha and Omega, though! :)

So, I'm still not convinced Kristen is the mole - I'm leaning toward Alex and Paul at the moment (and I really don't have an explanation why). While Bobby looks a little fishy, I think his overreaction at the execution when he was safe is pushing me to believe he's innocent.

Nicole and Paul - oh boy. That's going to be an interesting matchup, to say the least. :p
