competitiveness of LSU

Hi, i am currently an out of stater(Georgia, but from New Orleans Louisiana) and i was just wondering how competitive LSU is regarding out of state people. I am still a junior in high school, but just wanted to know well in advance. thanks

LSU has a very strong Greek Community, but I am sure being from out of state ahs no bearing in recruitment.

The PNM are jusdged on themselves along.

Godd luck, but you have a while to worry about this!:)

You have no idea what you are talking about.

i'm not sure, but they won the national title.....and i don't think all of their players are from louisianna. so they might not be too bad at getting out of state recruits.

Depends on what fraternity you want to ultimately be involved with. Top tiers (I think Kappa Sigma and Phi Delt are at LSU but not completely sure) will have their pledge class pretty much locked up before rush starts. However, there is always room for a few more guys if they really like them.
Lower and Middle tier will be on the lookout for guys no matter the state. However, some are traditionally all southern guys (which you will probably fall into) and others are traditionally guys from north of Kentucky.

Seconded.

First off, any out of state student is at a disadvantage coming into the LSU scene. Majority of the fraternities at LSU host rush parties in the summer in every major city in Louisiana. Lake Charles, Lafayette, New Orleans, Shreveport, and obviously Baton Rouge. So therefore, anyone attending these rush parties gets their foot in the door.
(I'm pretty sure this is the same in most states)

Second, while being yourself is always a good idea, it helps if you don't stand out like a sore thumb in the way dress and act. I'm not really sure what the current dress for Georgia and the dress for both is continually evolving so its a little early to inquire about that. Right now, sperrys, ralph lauren, and costas is pretty standard dress among LSU fraternities.
---Not really sure but apparently jorts seem to be a problem in georgia, and those are never coming back into style, so do yourself a favor if you own a pair and just burn them now---

What the hell does recruiting football players have to do with the Greek system?

Hahahahahaha, I go to Texas. LSU and anything associated with it are the last things I will ever be envious about.

Oh Texas beats USC and they're hot shit, what conference are y'all in again, oh wait that doesn't quite matter cause it isn't the SEC.

The "they don't play in the SEC so they don't matter" argument is tired, played out, and for people that know little when it comes to college football. We are 40-19-3 vs. the SEC and the only times we have consistently lost to SEC opponents was when we sucked complete ass in the very late 80's and the first couple years of the 90s, and when we sucked ass in the late 30s. Get your weak ass SEC bullshit out of here.

I never said anything about us beating USC and thinking we are "hot shit"....thanks though for putting words in my mouth you dumb fucking hick. I think the history of the program speaks for itself, not a game played 3 years ago.

I said that I have zero envy for anything associated with LSU football. As I said, I go to Texas. 4 national championships, 820 wins (3rd most all-time), and second only to Alabama in bowl appearances. I am perfectly content with my own team.

Is it really a loss? We have a team full of amazing freshmen who went farther than anyone would have dreamed at the beginning of the season! That's a win in my book! Geaux Tigers!!!
/end hijack

Just hope Mainieri learned a few things, he made some pretty questionable calls.

jarred66 06-21-2008 05:09 PM

well yea, Landry was a casualty. He was pretty much an automatic out, and of course the intentional walks.

nate2512 06-21-2008 05:32 PM

They should have sent Ochinko to bat, then you had dean, gibbs, clark.

jarred66 06-21-2008 05:47 PM

yea, ochinko's only done good things as a PH, but hey football season is near and i'm consoled by the fact that UNC does not know what one looks like.(no offense)
