American Pie 2

This movie is hilarious. I liked it all except I think there was too much focus on lesbians- but the guys in the crowd loved that part- they were cheering so much! Anyway I do reccommend it if you liked thefirst one- if not this one is a little raunchier so it probably isn't for you.

LeslieEMU 08-12-2001 08:20 AM

I too thought this movie was very funny...it definitely did justice to the first movie.

Do Not Read The Rest If You Have Not Seen The Movie

***Last Chance***

Okay, I really thought Stifler and Jessica were going to get really drunk and end up in bed together at the end of the movie. I thought that would have been much better than him ending up with the two girls...it would have been funnier if the brother had ended up with the two girls. And while I found the Nadia/Sherman hook-up lame, I was glad Jim ended up with Michelle. My favorite line was "This one time...well, here..."

AlphaSigLana 08-12-2001 11:58 AM

LeslieEMU- I agree. Too bad only mens fantasies were fulfilled in the movie! Next time let it be the girls turn!

ladybug16 08-12-2001 01:58 PM

I loved the movie too http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Being a music major "band geek" flute player myself it's so hilarious to watch them portray that aspect on screen. I have to say that I did think the Nadia/"Sherminator" thing was a little too weird.
The movie made me realize how much I'm going to miss college life. Cheesy, yes, but it's true...at least for me http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

KSig RC 08-12-2001 08:49 PM

I'm going to have to go with this line as my favorite:

"Get a spoon . . . " i won't ruin it for the rest of you.

Solid movie - very funny, and worth the dime.

HeidiHo 08-12-2001 11:22 PM

My boyfriend & I tried to go friday night but it was sold out, we went back Saturday night & it was sold out until the midnight show so we got tickets & came back at 12. I was worth the trouble. I liked it better than the 1st one. My BF's fav new phrase is the spoon thing. My fav was the entire walky-talky part. The guys did love the lesbian stuff though. I really likes AP2, eeryone should see it.

Hootie 08-12-2001 11:45 PM

AWESOME MOVIE.
My family rented the first one last night so I watched it and got caught up again and then went and saw the second one tonight.
I liked this one better because it was more entertaining and just plain funnier...LOL.

LeslieEMU 08-13-2001 12:32 AM

Lana, there really needs to an American Pie/Road Trip type movie that focuses on the female perspective.

Lots-a-Heart 08-13-2001 07:10 PM

Way funnier than the first one! The first one was good b/c you got to know the characters and the second one was better b/c you already knew them, you know what I mean? I want to meet the guy who plays Stifler b/c he must be fun in person..at least I think he would be!
I'd have to say by the time Jim is on the roof, I was laughing so hard I couldn't catch my breath, but I was still laughing at the scene, it was hard to calm down for the rest of the movie!
***SPOLIER REPORT**
- I thought that Jessica was gonna end up with Finch instead of Stiflers mom again
- Kevin's role was kinda blah in this one I think
- Chris Klein again is adorable, sweet and gorgeous!
~Sarah

AlphaSigLana 08-13-2001 07:48 PM

The guy who plays stiffler-Seann William Scott- is very hot! I wouldn't mind a bf that looked like him. I like already knowing all the characters. The girls really had small roles. Maybe American Pie 3 could come out?!

Dianne 08-13-2001 09:26 PM

Yeah, I definitely smell an American Pie 3. What I really liked about it (besides the fact that the movie was totally hilarious) was how true it was about coming back from freshman year and finding that so many things had changed. I can totally identify. My only problem with the movie was the story line about Oz and his girlfriend going to Europe. I thought the plot for them 2 was kinda lame. And the phone sex thing was gay if you ask me. But other than that, I say an overall outstanding movie!

AlphaSigLana 08-13-2001 11:33 PM

I thought Oz and Heather would break up once she went to Europe. I thought she would meet some European guy or realize that they need time to grow w/o eachother. Dianne you are so right about things changing. I just finished my first yr of college and haven't gotten together with any people i went to hs with. We all went to different schools and I feel that a lot of people I know( I did see some before school ended) are still stuck in high school and haven't matured. I am Greek they aren't, I like to go and party they don't, mommy still makes their lunch- do you all understand what I am saying?

The only good thing about the phone sex was when Stifler picked up the phone...now, that was funny!

Lil_G 08-14-2001 01:32 PM

Yeah definitely better than the first one.
"who wants to see me kiss amber?"
"I do."
"who is this?"
"uhh Kevin...Smith."

sheldric 08-16-2001 07:15 PM

Ok, LOVED this movie!!! I thought it was way better than the first one. There were more jokes, but it really did portray what people feel after their first year of college (in my point of view). Things do change and a lot of poeple don't realize that!
********SPOILER************
I too thought that Jessica and Stifler would end up together, that Oz and Heather would break up, and that Kevin and Vicki would get back together. Although I wasn't disappointed with the ending, thought that would have been appropriate. Can't wait for American Pie 3 - The class reunion????

CRMSNTiDEGRL717 08-17-2001 01:31 PM

I went and saw this last night and I thought it was SO hilarious!!!!!! Yeah, about the phone-sex thing, it was definately funny when Stifler picked up the phone! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif It was ALL funny actually, but I agree there were a few lame parts, IMO.

juniorgrrl 08-19-2001 01:28 AM

I guess I'm going to be the dissenting opinion here. I saw it tonight, and thought it was OKAY, at best. I guess if I had wanted to reminisce, I could have stayed at home and talked with my friends about high school.

There were some funny parts, but it was the same kind of funny as Ace Ventura. It was funny for the moment, but I'd never see it again.

Never thought I'd come out of a movie saying "I think Dude Where's My Car was better" But in this case, I did http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif

James 08-19-2001 02:02 AM

I also thought it was funny and better than the first. Although, I saw the first one on video which diminishes the effect of the movie.

I think the problem with the girl perspective is that guys and gals can relate to the guy perspective, but guys have problems with the gal point of view. And yo want as big a viewing audience as possible.

I thought Vicki and Kevin would get back together also, kind of dick of her to bring her date to his party when a blind eunuch would have seen he still has feelings for her.

The Oz/Heather thing was wierd, I agree, I thought she would find someone else in Europe. It kind of neutralized their characters. Maybe they had too many plot lines already for an hour and forty-five minutes?

I had a hunch Stifler's mom would show up . . .

If Stifler were on of my friends I am not sure whether I would have killed him or intentionally provoked him to see him do his worse.

Juniorgirl, maybe I should see dude where's my car, I wouldn't go see it on basic principle after the previews, just like I wouldn't go see Dumb and Dumber ever again.

Dude Where's My Car was surprisingly good, and its much better than the previews. There's more to the story than the previews let on. Of course, I didn't pay to see it, so that's part of why I thought it was good. Free movies always have an edge over ones you've gotta pay for.

Siobhan 08-20-2001 01:32 AM

This movie was soooo funny, but I would definately recommend watching the 1st one again, to refresh your memory http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif.

Brandeis 08-21-2001 01:21 PM

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about, because I thought that AP2 was pretty lame. Don't get me wrong, I love teenage, gross out comedies just like any other horndog guy but AP2 was a real dissapointment. AP1 was classic and Road Trip was awsome but AP2 made a poor attempt to replicate AP1, using a carbon copy of the major comedic points of the original movie. That is, they substitued the hijinks of the first movie with different stuff. Come on, what do they think we are?!! You have to try a lot harder to get cheap laughs. The movie was uncreative and lacked any originality in creating funny and memorable moments. You knew well beforehand what was going to happen before all of the major funny scenes and had to force yourself to laugh at the infantile and ridiculously proposterous set of events in the movie. kevin's caharcater sucked! Mina Suvari's character sucked! Elizabeth Shanon's character sucked! Oz's character sucked. The guy's infatuation with Stifler's mom was weird and downright disturbing. Even Stifler was getting annoying, in many parts of the movie. Overall-AP2 sucked!! And to whomever said that "Dude, where's my car?" was funny- you have some serious problems, and should make an effort to tackle some of those issue for thinking that the movie was funny.

James 08-21-2001 01:25 PM

AOTLALA 08-21-2001 03:15 PM

I saw American Pie 2 this weekend and I loved it--
**SPOILER**
especially when Jim and Michelle get together in the end! And I thought Stifler and Jessica should have gotten together and Kevin should have found a new girl. But I LOVED the movie
Favorite lines
"I am a band geek--I just never joined the band"
"How is this for a band camp story"

It made me miss college too!!

orchid2 08-22-2001 03:34 PM

I LOVED this movie! I went to see it with my best friend this past weekend, and I couldn't stop laughing. I love these kinds of movies!!!

SigmaChiCard 08-22-2001 03:40 PM

i thought it sucked really bad...i really liked the first, but this one stunk in my opinion

luckysmileslssu 08-23-2001 01:37 PM

I to thought the movie was awesome:) The part that i thought was really the best was that glue boy ended up with band camp girl..I also think the movie should let girls have some fun too:)

Kevlar281 08-23-2001 03:17 PM

I saw it for my first time yesterday and is it just me or did anyone else catch a lot of similarities with Cant Hardly Wait. I mean the whole Jim/Michelle thing reminded me a lot about Preston/Amanda. All and all I enjoyed it, definitely more of a group movie not a date movie.

pink27 08-24-2001 04:47 PM

I liked this movie! I thought it was hysterical.... I couldn't stop laughing the entire time. I'll admit, it was a bit cheesy at times, but I thought the writers did a remarkable job of recreating the humor without overusing the same old jokes. From the people I've talked to, the general concensus is girls liked it, guys didn't. Of course, I'm sure there are exceptions; but in my opinion, this movie is a keeper (just like the first one)!

Miami1839 08-25-2001 06:44 PM

I loved that movie. Both first and second one. There were so many classic moments in that movie. I agree it was catered more to the guys with the lesbian scene but it was even funnier when stiffler said he would do the last dare for the "team" what a riot. Stiffler in some ways reminds me of one of my brothers. ha ha. I would have rather have scene Stifler and Nadia together in the end. That would have been the icing on the cake. Ha Ha.
I did think that Heather and Jessica had lame roles. Still, I loved that movie. What a classic.

Kevin

DGPhoney 08-26-2001 02:25 PM

I think that movie was funny as hell. I just saw it last nite and thought it was hiliarious, I was laughing so hard I was crying. I think it tops the first movie by a land slide.
Sherman the Shermanator is da man, lol.
Stifler taking one for the team is a riot*
Jim and "his glue" was killing me funny:P

DGPhoney~

Miami1839 08-26-2001 03:52 PM

Now that I think about it the guy that got shot down by Heather? Well, I think he would have been a better candidate for Nadia. I mean they would have been a good pair with the luck they had. Stifler and Nadia might have been overkill I guess. I guess because Nadia is way too nice. LOL :)

You know what I just recently realized...

perhaps it's not a realization, but a possible realization, thus a query:

Do you think at all that Dude, Where's my Car got it's title from the Big Lebowski at all, when they come out of the Bowling Alley and just sit there saying Dude, where's your car...Where's my car...Dude, what happened to your car...etc

Hey I never thought of that before. Quite interesting
