My husband and I are hosting our annual Draft Day Party. We're looking forward to the Bears doing well this year (we're optimists, obviously).

So how do you think your teams will draft?

Below are the 20 first round teams....me personally, I am kinda hoping the ravens will get Matt Ryan BUT now that Steve is gone we need another vet QB so hopefully we will go get a safety or CB. What do you predict your team will do?

1 Miami Dolphins
2 St. Louis Rams
3 Atlanta Falcons
4 Oakland Raiders
5 Kansas City Chiefs
6 New York Jets
7 New England Patriots
8 Baltimore Ravens
9 Cincinnati Bengals
10 New Orleans Saints
11 Buffalo Bills
12 Denver Broncos
13 Carolina Panthers
14 Chicago Bears
15 Detroit Lions
16 Arizona Cardinals
17 Kansas City Chiefs
18 Houston Texans
19 Philadelphia Eagles
20 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

I'm hoping the Bears get a good Offensive Lineman. Chris Williams, the OT out of Vandy would be a great pick. Knowing the Bears, they'll pick someone they'll call "The best athlete available" whether or not he can fill a need or even contribute.

As for the later rounds, I'm not sure if I want them to get another QB. It's not that I think Rex is the answer, I'm not sure if I can handle a couple of sub-par years while the new QB gets on the job training.

Lordy knows you guys can use a QB....just liek we can but I don't feel good about Ravens picking QBs....

My son and I will be glued to the TV to see where our awesome USC Trojans go - John David Booty, Fred Davis, Sam Baker, Sedrick Ellis, Keith Rivers and Chilo Rachel also Terrell Thomas - Fight On!:)

It'd be neat to get one of these Trojans on our Atlanta Falcons team.

My husband thinks I am nuts but I just LOVE watching Draft Day!!!:p

Vernon Gholston...

In high school, he wasn't interested in football. He wanted to be a body builder

I'll check this thread once the good 'old Browns finally get to make some picks in what.... the fourth round? SO GLAD we traded away all our early round picks for benchwarmers like Brady Quinn......

dukemama 04-27-2008 10:27 AM

Once again, I'm left shaking my head at the picks made by the Lions and the Eagles...

So far I like how we've drafted, but the QB questions scares me. This is the franchise that thought Cade McNown was a star.

Hey now, Brady is my neighbor.

But, I agree with you. It was a waste. What I think was so ironic about last year's drafts were that Joe Thomas and Brady live in the same town (yes, me too), about 1 mile apart. Joe lives in a newer, middle class neighborhood in a modest sub-division and Brady lives in the most expensive sub-division. We know who negotiated a better contract.

At least Brady now has a better hair cut than he did last year.

I think the ravens did ok with thier picks but we are still left with no viable veteran QB to teach the youngins and I am not confident in Kyle Boller training this crew and by the fatc that the ravens have drafted 2 QBs within the last 2 years means that Boller may finally be making his exit pretty soon....

I like the Giants picks.

Phillips and Thomas are solid picks. Manningham is a gamble. He will be coming into a team that just won the Super Bow. A little BS from him, they'll boot him. But if he stays in the straight and narrow road, he'll be a great pick. Just hope Shockey doesn't ruin it all.

what do you think about the likelihood of the Giants trading shockey?

7 Trojans drafted in the first 2 rounds! That's a new record!!!!!

I was thrilled!!

I was sad that John David Booty did not get drafted higher but I think he will fit well at Minnesota - he could challenge Tavares for starter eventually and even though the Vikings just got Gus Frerrotte, I think he will shine and make other teams wish they had not disregarded him.

On a side note, I am ecstatic to have a Trojan in Atlanta - Yay! Sam Baker!

:D

I think that people underestimate John David's ability. I hope he does well at Minnesota, I think he has the makings of a great QB!

The sooner, the better. He's good and all, but he's a cancer that needs to be taken out.

He can afford a better haircut! (Wonder if John Edwards' stylist is available?) :)

DaemonSeid 04-30-2008 12:10 PM
